Food at Vale

Markie G

Recommended Posts

I don't like burgers or anything like that so never buy any food at vale but i'd be tempted with chips, peas and gravy like at Burton. I think that would be a popular choice for many.

Frozen chips don't go off either!

.....it'd be so much more convenient to know I could get something for stupid KO times like Tuesday.

The carvery last year was shockingly bad... even worse than pub carveries... food isnt difficult, you just have to remember that you cant cook braising steak like a fillet, dont overcook the veg, dont forget the salt and dont serve powdered custard to serve on tasteless plated tarts.

The total outlay to watch football at Vale Park (1st team) deters pensioners from attending.

After many, many years of support finances deny most pensioners their Saturday afternoon enjoyment.

They should do what alot of us do and start saveing a few £ now till next season then buy a ST @ £10 a match And stop moaning.

If the quality isnt there .... Don buy !

If the taste is not good .... Dont buy !

If its expensive ....... dont buy !

Just goes to show that fools and their money are easily parted.

Do you really think that continually paying high prices for bad food will improve the catering ?

Moaning to people on OVF is ..... Well...... Just moaning

when I want something to eat and drink I go Burslem and eat in either KFC or the Chippy on Swan Bank corner.

Several good pubs there too.

Far better and cheaper than the Vale.

I was with you 100%... until you mentioned KFC.

The Vale have a captive audience so the prices are likely to be high... the problem is that once your audience starts swinging away from what you provide its a devil of a job to swing them back... it would be nice to get away from the cheap and nasty and start providing cheap and cheerful... simple but tasty food isnt that difficult to produce in large quantities and sell at a fast rate if you have the inclination and equipment... and plan

Sorry to be a moaning old codger but when you are old and your blood is thin you also will feel the cold and will not be able to attend at many matches. Buying a S/t for a selected few matches works out to be more expensive. Half the matches at £10 = £20 a match.

A part s/t for say 20 matches would be great and many old folk would then help to swell the gate.

Just take your own food in - it's cheaper and safer!

I hope the club aren't going to persist with that silly policy of refusing entry to people with flasks this winter - ridiculous.

I didn't realise that they refuse you entry if you have a flask?? I always take my own bottle of pepsi in,people might say I should give the money to the club but to charge £2 for something I can get up the road for 99p is ott in my opinion.

I think football fans every where get ripped off, £2.50 for a wrights pie is daylight robbery when they are on sale at wrights pie shop in Burslem for £1.30, but its not just vale, £2.50 compares with prices at most other grounds.

I do agree,i think drinks and food are over priced at a lot of venues and they know people will pay it.

What tickles me is the sight of queues, yes queues of people waiting to hand over £3+ for a plastic bottle of weak-as-**** lager!

Carlsberg is worse then Carling (if that's possible) and at 3.8% it's debatable what the point of drinking it is.

Personally, I never ever spend any money on food in football grounds.

As for stopping people taking flasks in....I often take one and ain't been stopped yet.

I'm sure that if you asked nicely Caroline that Smurf would get a bottle of Lambrini over to you

Oi! I am no Lambrini girl! When I sit with the away fans when Newcastle play Joke I am treated (as an away fan) far better as far as catering is concerned, than I am as a home fan at Vale. Something, which IMO is never right as it is lost revenue.
