All three goals came down our left; big diagonal behind the full back, cut inside, near post, bang.

Disappointing.

Just out of interest did we concede all 3 goals after Duffy came on??

Yes, but Yates was at left back for the first and Dickinson for the other two.

Pope will be lucky to get 5 this season. Unfit, weak, lack sharpness. Strange subs again from the messiah...

I'm saving that oprediction to the end of the season, hope you'll be big enough to come on here and admit how foolish it is when the time comes. He may not get 30 or even 20, but will contribute well over the season and to say he will get less than five is an extremely insulting prediction in my opinion.

He must be because Adams would of done the most logical thing and put him left back when Jones was injured. .....wouldn't he? Sorry I forgot we have the most tactically incompetent gaffer in the league

Bringing Davis or Chilvers on wouldn't have been logical either - they shouldn't be in our squad.

We need better players. This is what it comes down to.

I may get accused of wearing rose tinted glasses here but here goes...

League season so far;

Brentford - Thought we played well against what I think is a championship level side. Got a draw which was just about deserved due to our hunger and dedication.

Colchester - Didn't turn up by all accounts. Lost by the odd goal against a side who have made a solid start

Bradford - Fully committed performance, edged the win.

Oldham - By many accounts could have been out of sites by half time but weren't, made to pay after a missed peno and a terrible refereeing decision

Wolves - Full of fight, wanted it more than them. No rub of the green what so ever. On another day would have got a point quite comfortably if not nicked a win against another championship level side IMO.

So in summary- We've taken 1 point from the 2 quality sides we have played, this could have been more given the rub of the green and better refereeing. Beaten Bradford who have started excellently. Colchester we should write off as it was a no show and Oldham where again I think the rub of the green and important moments have gone against us.

No reason to be too disheartened. If decisions and luck are meant to even themselves out over the course of a season I think we will do just fine.

A slow start away from home has cost us the chance of a decent start. Important game next week against struggling Carlisle who as luck would have it with the vale, seem to be coming around after a terrible start. Drew 0-0 at Brentford today!

Onwards and upwards.

It just seems like we rely too much on headed goals from crosses. Attacking moves usually result in the ball being sent out wide, letting the defence get themselves set up, then a cross to the 6 yard box. This either:

Goes straight to the keeper's hands

Ref gives a foul on the keeper

Defender heads it clear.

Plan B then seems to be walking it into the box for a goalmouth scramble while the defence gets themselves set up. Resulting in:

Shot blocked

Ball gets tangled up in players legs and lost

Handball/foul/foul on keeper

Tame shot as no room to take a swing

Every match it's the same. May have worked last year but not in the league above.

Is this because we have little pace up front?

Is this because we have very little creativity through the middle?

Could we get an 18 year old in from the Championship on loan, where the parent club pays the wages? Just a player with lots of pace but can't really play football?
