Port Vale v Wolves Post Match

Lady luck was not on our side, nor the ref in the first half. Their goalie was having a cracking game. The post saved them twice as well.

Pope has now scored and so he can now relax and start knocking them in for fun again.

The ball didn't drop for us, the Ref was *****, we hit the post and went close.

BUT wtf is wrong with Pope's performance/attitude, yes he scored but after a good defensive performance in the first half he couldn't hold the line, so the pressure was constantly on us and we made mistakes.

Overall, we didn't deserve the score line and can take some positives but we need to find a cutting edge and hold the ball up..

What a frustrating game!

First half we matched Wolves and I thought we could go on and win it second half.

Second half we came out and seemed to play a 4312 formation with JMW in a free role, and yes we conceded, but we were attacking and I thought we looked like scoring. Then......the substitutions......and in my opinion, they completely changed the game. We lost all impetus. Why take Hughes off who is a big game player? Why take JMW off who was finally playing on his natural side, looking dangerous going forward and working hard defensively.

Wolves weren't better than us particularly, certainly not 3-1 better than us. Yates was my MoM, I think he's been our best player this calender year, and most players had a good game.

I'm still of the opinion we have the players to do well this season, I just don't (tin hat on) think we have the manager to utilise them to the best of their ability. We didn't lose today because the players weren't good enough, we lost today because of Mickys tactics/substitutions.

game changed whem they substituted late on first half, they pushed three in midfield. Adams changed the formation to react and we got battered!

Why can we not play how we want to at home? Should we jump because the other side alter it about?

Up to half time I thought it was a nothing game, Pope looked pedestrian, HUghes ineffective, very little happening out wide, but at leats we were pressuring in their half thus ruling out alot of any threat they had.

Second half that simply disapeared, we had no width, no middle, and no back. The players didnt have a clue for about a 30 minute spell what the hell they were doing.
