Those left will not be happy though mate

Burslem ( like Stoke ) is fast becoming a haven for night life and both towns will soon start benefitting in the daytime also ?

I drive through it every single day so i suppose you are right to a point

Would it bring people into Burslem though as that is what the council would consider ?

You could hardly compare Stoke to Burslem for nightlife. The mothertown is now the favoured destination for entertainment and value, leaving Hanley behind.

How about a tryout with a Vale Christmas Market (German style) from mid-November to the last game before the big day ?

Fans could help decorate Vale Park with Christmas decorations and turn the whole place into a sensation. Get hold of some cheap props reindeer, tinsel on floodlights and have stalls and hot grog drinks 2 or 3 days a week and matchdays too.

Cost -minimal. Permissions needed - no idea so if it makes it a non-starter, then apologies.

If it did work though, it would become an annual treat - and get lots of kids coming to Vale Park.

Boomer in Sants gear, Christmas smurf cakes....I can see it all now. (its the heat...)

And a lot of her televised TV projects ended in tatters - fact.

Does she know Burslem? :(

If Vale do some market research and it indicates that a market would be a goer then so be it..walk then run

It's got to be worth pushing for Borslem has nowt at the moment but good pubs, t**s F***y and the Vale. If the council could see further than the end of their nose. They would see it would rejuvenate Boslem town to everyones benefit.

The supporters club need to bring it to the Smurf's attention.

A carboot would surely be a winner. There's one on a huge field round the back of rhyl (near Sainsburys) its massive and attracts loads of Sellers and buyers. They must make an absolute fortune. Vale could do a similar idea, even use the lower part of the carpark and by the main entrance to the ground for parking (with a small charge per car)

Behind the scenes Pete Williams put a huge amount of effort into getting permission for the Market to be restarted which included an incredible amount of research back to practically medieval days as to whether a 'right of market' was still valid on the land.

This was at a time of course when V2001 were in charge of the club and from what I remember Pete had pretty well succeeded in his task which would have countered any opposition from the Council.

He gave all the evidence to the then Chairman after which it all seemed to come to a full stop.

Now that the Council are considerably more pro-active I would suggest the club have a chat with Pete. I will mention it to Ally next time I see her too as it is something that the new SC may want to investigate.

The suggestion of a Xmas market is one worth exploring I believe. I have been the ones in Nottingham and Birmingham and they were brill. I've also been the one at hamburg and that is awesome. It doesn't have to be on there scale but a dozen or so stalls of the right calibre and I reckon it could be worth it then hopefully watch it grow year on year and would also benefit local communities/families. People could browse the market then pop into the club shop pick up some merchandise etc.
