Matchday Thread: Port Vale v Notts County

A much needed league win to boost morale is needed. The transfer window will be shut, whether a match ready player has been signed will be known, and whether he meets our opinions on which was the most pressing position to be covered will have been made. There will also be one more game under our belts as we attempt to gel, is the mix right and we are now about to turn the corner with Turner?

Lose this and we could be bottom. I don't think anyone expected that to happen did they, even after last season?

My concern is that we don't seem to have a system, or a plan A or B. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see more than a point from this one.

Well two home games played and 4 goals conceded two from headers which should have being dealt with by players been alert to the danger and one a lucky a deflected one from a wayward shot and one a sadio mane kind of effort which the goalie could and should have done better.

2 home games on balance of chances created we deserved lose.

So onto Notts County Duffy Dicko Oconnor and co.

They won there last away game 4-2 so going be need all the players playing for 90 mins the way they did v Crewe for about 20.

One positive to take is that bar Wycombe's first half performance it's hard to say any team has been particularly better than Vale. We've generally been our own undoing.

What? Why Duffy? Especially with Dan Jones in the team.

This is more Vale Current versus Vale Ex-players. Hopefully some of the ex-players are still making silly mistakes and allow our strikers/midfield or even defenders to find their scoring boots.

This is becoming a pressure game for Brown and Staff to start winning and the players gelling together.

Duffy is their captain isn't he? Still better than some that we've tried in that position, so too Dicko who can't get a game because of Jones. Boo the latter, idle ****.
