That lot down the road are beginning to lick their lips at the the prospect of Tolaj joining them.....Surely not....😒

The person who first reported it was Ed Johnson who is a Freelance Sports journalist and has been correct previously when it comes to player transfers.

This is my wish list for new signing for next season. It all obviously depends on whether the players are not too dear, wages wise and also whether Carol wants to right another wrong.

Goalkeeper:

Freddie Woodman who is now 29 and out of contract at Liverpool in June. He is 6'2" and to me just the sort of player we should try to get. I am sure he earns good money at Liverpool but at his age could just be looking to play games every week.

Defenders:

Dan Happe at Leyton Orient. Will be 28 in Sept and has been with the O's for nine years and his contract is also up in June. He is left sided and 6'6" tall. He could afford course be offered a new contract, but using Nathan Smith as similarity, Happe would be entitled to a testimonial next year and the club might not want this distraction.

Luke Ayling at Middlesborough. Will be 35 in August and his contract is up in June. He has had a good career and if Middlesborough did get promoted this season he may be surplus to requirements for the premier league, just as Leeds did. He could be looking to continue playing and he is a real leader and the experience we will need.

Midfield:

Herbie Kane who is on Huddersfield's books but is presently on loan at Plymouth. He is 27 years old and 5'10" tall. An attacking midfielder that has impressed me when I have seen him. Would probably have to pay a fee for him.

Jodie Jones at Notts County. 28 year old winger who I am sure a lot of fans will know about. He beats players, gives plenty of assists and scores goals. If Notts County don't go up he could look for a new challenge. Again he would cost anyone a fee as he is still under contract.

Zak Brunt who is a 24 year old attacking midfielder at Boreham Wood. Has been very consistent this season and also last year at Barnet and could be worth a punt. I think his contract is up this June so being over 24 would cost a fee.

Forward:

Regan Lilley at Carlisle who is 28 and I think is worth a punt. He is 5'11" and two footed and could bolster our front line. He is still under contract so we would have to pay a fee for him.

Danny Ormerod at Fylde. Just 19 years old but has been scoring for fun this season and a host of clubs are looking at him. We would have to pay a big chunk of the Tolaj money to sign him, but has got to be worth the risk. It would be a gamble we should be making before someone like Peterborough does.

Some fans will laugh at some of my suggestions but this a forum for opinions.

There is no such person. It's a fake account run by a sad individual with too much time on their hands. The profile photo is AI generated.

Ray, we have as much chance of getting Freddie Woodman as I have of winning Miss World. I keep looking at Matt Rush at Boreham Wood, scoring loads in the National League bit like Tolaj.

If York somehow fail to go up, I'd 100% be going after Ollie Pearce. His goals record is quite frankly outrageous.

Yes, he's 30. Yes, he's not got EFL experience. However, for those doubting his profile, I've got two words for you - Michael Cheek.

Pretty much a Stockley replacement. Guaranteed goals and a focal point.

Good call Jean and it seems like his contract is up at the end of this season too.

As much as I can believe Tolaj would have no issue going to Stoke, I still think Scotland is a more likely destination. Hell, even Watford is probably more likely than Stoke. Tolaj practically has his pick, just can’t see him choosing Stoke-on-Trent again for his next step in his career.

Also these guff Facebook pages that farm for engagement from gurning fans needs to die.

Agreed.  I understand his family live on the south coast and are happy there; so i'd see him going to the likes of Southampton, Bristol City, possibly Southampton, Brighton  maybe Palace or Brentford.  I dont see him coming back to Stoke-on-Trent
