Summer transfer rumours/speculation and retained list

Featured Replies

Tolaj was/is a terrific player to watch and very effective. DM hardly ever played him in the first part of our promotion season!

Tolaj well its proven he puts bums on seats loved is Vale excellence

A player who can do something out of nothing, the day Plymouth met his release clause was the day Vale threw away progress simple as that, since what is it 21 0s in games so compelling and its there in Black and White ...

A very costly release clause

A loss of 2000 season ticket holders aswell

Great business i think not

Well the club can't really do <ovf censored>, if they hit the release clause and Tolaj decides to jump ship. Our greatest failing was not spending that money well on getting a replacement. But it's all timing and place. It could have been a matter of salary as well. Seeing how much loses the club have right now. We would probably not have been able to match the salary Plymouth offered.

I still believe that the nail on the coffin was retaining Moore for so long.

Well who ever we sign let’s play them in there correct position. We have a silly history of playing people in the wrong position. Horses for courses let’s do our homework better and smarter.

Welcome to Vale Park, were we buy two young strikes in Paton and Tolaj and play them out of position. Maybe Moore was playing football manger hard mode and wanted a promotion challenge by playing players in the wrong position.

m8 - you are wasting your breath.  It doesn't matter how many times you say it TOLAJ DECIDED TO LEAVE - VALE DIDN'T WANT HIM TO GO. Some on here simply haven't got the matter between their ears for that to sink in.

One thing is for sure and that's the need to add goals to the team from all areas

I think who we recruit will go a big way to telling us how Brady plans to play next season,I would like power, pace and goals please

Pete has said that a number of Championship and foreign sides are eyeing a move for Lorent.

No surprise, quality player was always clear how much better he was but the donkey manager stuck him out of position every week. Single handedly got us promoted, would have got 20+ if he was played in his natural position and actually played in the first half of the season

May just be me but I want something completely different next year down vale.
Signings like Paton and Tolaj again, ones that have impressed in non league and we give them a chance, some will work, some won’t. But I’d rather this than the journeymen we will no doubt sign.
Same for manager for me. I’d like someone different, attacking, easy on the eye (football). It’s all a big risk and I get that but I think we will be in the bottom 4/6 at best with the current squad and I don’t see how; without Carol paying out to pay these clowns off, how we solve it.

Agreed, i would love to have another chizzy type player. Someone creative that can create chances. One things for sure it does not matter if we sign retired PL players like gray or non-league goal scores like Tolaj unless we can actually server them up top and i feel like this has been one of our weakest areas both under Moore and Brady

Never said they could do anything did I

Vale are summed up in a film

A series of unfortunate events .

I think if we kept Moore we be about 5th bottom ,im not sure Brady has improved us in fact the worst 2 home displays of the season were when Brady was in charge and the defeat at Wycombe nothing short of a disgrace ..

Exeter and Bradford .

May aswell have kept Moore ,has if  anything in league we are a terrible watch ,mind you werent much better under Moore ,but i maintain apart from Huddersfield game Moore had Vale doing ok not his fault injuries too important players happened and support kicking off at end of Wigan away game where 4 clear cut chances for Vale were created and missed went well .

With his players including MJohnson who mysteriously left we had just won 5-1 v Blackpool and Brady has bought in and replaced seasoned pros with chancers .

All about opinions

You have yours i have mine and so do the missing thousands who no longer attend ..

I dont think we will be getting a new manager but i think we could see one or two non league players coming in

But if we say it hard enough, loud enough, the traitor will be the golden boy and grace L2 with us again.... Carol just needs to get the wallet out, or something.

No, we wouldn't. We might have one or two points more but the belief in the squad was well and truly gone after the Bolton 4-0 thrashing. We wouldn't have won both FA Cup games in a week giving us a game at Stamford Bridge.

There's far too much desperate revisionism about our season going on because we are going down, on both managers and players. We just need to own the mess and move on. You don't go forward by looking back.

That lot down the road are beginning to lick their lips at the the prospect of Tolaj joining them.....Surely not....😒

Sorry DD but that is utterly laughable. We’d be on less points than we are now and probably already relegated as I doubt we’d have got past Fleetwood in the cup so not so many games in hand. Brady has earned more PPG without the use of players like Byers for the most part than Moore did.

Also that Blackpool game we’d never have come from behind to win as we almost never did under him as at least Smith had the foresight to go 4-4-2 second half. Moores answer in a rut was just to throw on all the strikers he had and hope.

Anyone got a handy list of the current squad and their contract lengths? Surely someone has here.
