Summer transfer rumours/speculation and retained list

Featured Replies

Will do my list. I expect us to bring in as many as 8-10 players in the summer and keeping the rest for a squad of 20-22.

Top 5 transfers in for starting places:

GK,

Striker,

Centre Mid,

Winger,

Centre Back.

Other ins: Striker, Centre Mid, another Winger as squad options. These might even be loans.

On loan until the end of the season

  • Dejaune Brown — Nope
  • Ethon Archer — Would perform at L2 but expect him to take another L1 loan
  • Joe Gauci — Would keep but expect him to move on
  • Eli Campbell — Nope
  • Martin Sherif — Nope

Out of contract in the summer of 2026

  • Mitch Clark — release
  • Ben Heneghan — release
  • Connor Hall — extended it seems. 3rd choice CB
  • Ben Garrity — extended it seems. The Jason Lowe role next season
  • Jayden Stockley — extended it seems. Get him mentoring Scragg
  • Ben Amos — release
  • Funso Ojo — release
  • Ryan Croasdale — release
  • Jesse Debrah* — sell to Bromley
  • Ben Lomax — will be released
  • Tyler Magloire — release, but I could see Brady wanting to keep him
  • Grant Ward — release
  • Andre Gray — release
  • Onel Hernandez — release

Out of contract in the summer of 2027

  • Marko Maroši — sell
  • Jaheim Headley — keep
  • Jordan Gabriel — keep
  • George Byers — keep if possible but expect him to leave
  • Rico Richards — sell
  • Liam Gordon — would look to sell, but think he stays
  • Ruari Paton — I’d keep but expect him to go
  • Ben Waine — As above. Will fetch a few
  • Kyle John (option of a third year) — keep and hope nobody comes in to buy
  • Cameron Humphreys — keep
  • Jordan Shipley — sell

Out of contract in the summer of 2028

  • Rhys Walters — keep, but probably attracts interest
  • Jack Shorrock — keep but expect him to seek a move
  • George Hall — want to keep, expect to be sold.

Another one at fylde who I’ve heard a lot say is better than Ormerod is Luca Thomas.

there is some quality players knocking about the national north and south leagues and well worth taking a chance on a couple of these type of players in the summer.

look at Stockport striker Adama sidibeh for example. Played in the north west counties for Cheadle and then went to Warrington Rylands. I can always remember Michael clegg saying how some league one or two club should sign him. Few months later he went to St Johnston and then Stockport signed him.

we need to start having a decent scout in place to sniff a few of these type players out.

I mentioned Luca Thomas on here a few weeks ago,he is 21 and plays mainly on the wings but can play all across the front line

He has 19 goals in 43 games with 9 assists

Earlier in this thread i put that we need to add a goal scoring midfielder to the team, well I dont know much about this lad but i got his name mentioned to me as a player not really wanted at Bristol Rovers or should i say he doesn't really want to be there

Isaac Hutchinson 26yr old centre midfield currently on loan at Cheltenham

His stats this season are 16 goals and 3 assists in 39 games and overall in his career he averages around a goal every 4.5 games from midfield

It's interesting how many fans think you can sign big mid-season or even sign at all... even big clubs rarely do anything because even their budgets are gone, we are in millions of debt too and some people think brady had tons to work with?!?! It hurts, it really does.... I am judging brady on a full season and he should get backed by the fanbase.

We are going to have to raid non-league or free transfers, I can't see alot of out-and-out buys with agent fees like before or even put a loan player in a vital spot like striker or keeper again, id be shocked if we get anywhere near the budget of the 2024-2025 season, I am worried, i think the club needs to be ran by a non community manager and we should stop demonizing roles like director of football because it does work.

Id like to mention Luca Covolan (artistic license there) AKA "the purple prince" who plays mainly out of his area and on the naughty step - just saying, just saying 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I might be wrong but i do believe we can and will spend in the transfer market,i mean pay a fee for the right player/players,it wont all be free signings

Even raiding non league will cost a fair wedge

Are Paton and Clarke still contracted to us for next season

Paton yes, Clark no

Yes but if you consider the size of our squad and the wages they must be on... take a couple out on an average-ish wage (3K) and it still gives money to play with.

Assuming the budget is decent, having a smaller squad gives us scope to sign a player if needed and it's the right player.

I would definitely try to keep Croasdale

I agree and I'd be tempted with a 1 year deal for Hernandez - a pre season would make a big difference the lad has quality just needs the fitness

He certainly has some quality.  Also depends on what he wants/ expects

Seeing as he was dropped by two teams not too far between and managed to get him on a free on a half season deal. I wouldn't belive the terms to be outlandish. Do think Brady got the better negotiating hand.

I’m sure Brady implied tonight  that he’ll be here next year although he started of talking about Enol and ended saying Ethan. So one of them will be here next year
