Is it true that the absolute goal machine that is Devante Cole has a three-year contract at the Vale.

Goal machine we havent scored a home league goal  since he was spearheading our attack .

Has Carol told him she cannot afford pay his goal bonus as he as missed sitters v Plymouth and yesterday .

May aswell put Paton up there on his own or try Shipley upfront ,i think Cole is not the  right fit for us the away game v Lincoln and last few home games ive attended.

We  either cannot play to his strengths ,or he just sees us a small club and cannot be bothered, i dont get the feeliing hes a team player whst actually does he do

He is anomymous most of games if we have seen the best of him id hate see the worst .

Tolaj never stopped working a joy too watch infact the only reason id go most games because we had a forward who could score a goal out of nothing .

Like i say unless he is following a shot in too tap in from 2yards whats he actually do this Cole .

Our xmas he better show us a better side of him

I don't know what they are but Merry Xmas

I just posted this in the Darren In or Out thread but I thought I would post it on here as well.

I have been looking into DM's managerial career and it really is shocking when you look at it in context like I have done.

West Brom was placed in caretaker charge and although results improved under him they still got relegated at the end of the season, but still appointed him as manager that summer and were 4th in the Championship with 10 games to go when they sacked him due to a loss of form especially at home where they had only won 1 of their past 9 league games at the Hawthorns.

Sheffield Wednesday took over in March 2021 when they were in the relegation zone and ended up finishing bottom of the Championship that season, but despite this Mr Chansiri confirmed that DM would remain the manager the following season and they should have won the league with the squad that they had yet a dip in form at the wrong time saw them finish in 3rd and in the end they only just squeaked through the play offs.

Huddersfield took over on the 21st of September and with the club one place above the relegation zone and after just 3 wins in 23 matches he was sacked with the chairman being very critical of the results and the playing style that DM had implemented. For context Huddersfield still went down that season but if DM had remained in charge they would have lost more games with him in charge and the playing style would have remained the same.

Just over 2 weeks later after being sacked by Huddersfield he was appointed by us and at the time we were 2 points above the relegation zone but it took him nine games before he finally won his first game as Vale manager which was a 1-0 victory over Burton, although by then it was too late and we ended up getting relegated and just like West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday he remained in charge the following season and just like Sheffield Wednesday we should have won the league with the squad that we had as it was far too good for L2 but ultimately we had to settle for 2nd. So, if you look at his managerial career history is well and truly repeating itself and it looks like he is going to have another relegation (his 4th) on his CV and finish bottom of the league just like he did with Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

So, basically if your team is in a relegation dog fight and you appoint him as your manager then I'm afraid you are going down as to date he hasn't saved a single team.

Couldn’t agree more. He’s largely ineffective unless he scores. We need a target man who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. I’m sure we had someone of that ilk last season. Think he had fair hair and his name began with an S?  Haven’t seen him for ages. Reckon Darren must know but is perhaps saving him for a stint in goal if all our keepers get injured!

Time will tell on that one. Next season’s manager may be signing them, one way or the other.  Plus you’d be surprised where players will go if the money is right.

Huge premium to attract them tho. Try selling the club to a players wife after driving up from the A500 to the ground. Oxford,Reading,Plymouth, Exeter or Port Vale. Let me get back to you on that one.

I am not asking Carol to sell up and leave. What I am asking her to do is treat the Vale as a business and judge DM on his results . If this was any other business, any other football club, he would have been justifiably sacked already based  purely on performance,  not emotion. We are on a shocking run of results, what Carol  are you expecting DM to do in the next few games to change our fortunes that he hasn't been able to do in all the previous League games that we have lost. He has lost the fans, that never ends well. Loyalty is admirable, blind loyalty is foolishness. What I got from Phil Bowers interview with DM is that even DM doesn't believe he can turn it around anymore, you can hear it in the lack of conviction in his voice. He is a man waiting and expecting to be sacked. Put him and the vast majority of the fan base out of this misery whilst there is still a chance of League 1  survival. Admittedly getting slimmer whilst Rome burns and Carol dithers.

I think she knows she’s royally messed up again and finds herself in a cul de sac, that she hasn’t got a scooby of escaping from.

For me there’s only one Darren at the club who knows anything. That’s the geezer Darren1810 who posts on here. I realise that I’m assuming the person is male so if I’ve got it wrong, I’ll apologise now.

DoF - we have been down there and it did not work - he just took the money which could have been used on the pitch.  Please say what Fraudcroft actually achieved and myself and others will change our views.

Agree with the Head of scouting - does he and his team actually watch the players more than twice.

There’s been a massive turn around at Plymouth since Derek Adams returned to the club, in a supervisory position.

I get your main point but he has scored at home v Orient and Mansfield.

So 2 of the 3 games out of our 10 homes in which we have actually notched he has scored.

But I agree unless he scores he can look anonymous.

I stand by what I've said before that he's a 6 yard box predator with not much of a general game about him.

Cole is the least of our worries. We have a squad with no goals in it other than him.

League goals for Vale here, not counting tier 9 or whatever or the reserve Cup.

Walters zero, Heneghan zero. Paton 2, Waine 1, Byers maybe 2 at most. Clark 1, John zero, ojo maybe 2 or 3 at most. Debrah maybe 2 at most. These are all guesstimates.

Virtually none of the team contribute goals.

Curtis and Stockley can, but are sent to Coventry. Croasdale gets more than the rest of the midfield put together.

This was as clear as day earlier in the season that none of our midfield or defence chip in with anything.

Cole is not Tolaj. We have possibly lost one of the best players in the division.

Get the ball in the danger zone and Cole will notch a few. He's no use scrapping for balls 30 yards out.

I can't accept him as a possible scapegoat when we have horrendous players who can't even keep the football on the pitch.

Awful news coming out that sadly a Valiant who took ill at half time passed away, puts it all into perspective really. Rest in Peace Bill

Oh no, that’s awful. Assume that the guy in the Hamil? He was literally just in front of us. RIP.

Cole is a good striker but not what a struggling side needed.

We needed a like for like replacement for Tolaj - a quick channel runner with a bit of aggression. Cole would have been a nice addition on top but right now no one bullies centre halves and stretches them.

Graydon at Fleetwood is strikingly similar to Tolaj. It’s like watching the same player. He was the choice. Hope there’s still money available in January as he would be ideal.

I don't know what you expect him to do when he gets no service whatsoever. The fact he's got 5 league goals as it is (nearly half our total) despite not arriving until a month into the season is a minor miracle.
