Match Thread - Port Vale v Peterborough Utd

Featured Replies

We need the players to stage a coup like they did with Gannon where they went above his head to the board.

Surely none of the senior players can be happy working under Moore?

Becoming increasingly apparent that ‘learning the lessons’ of our last relegation season amounted to signing Lorent Tolaj and, after 6 months, playing him in his correct position about two divisions below his ability.

Otherwise, we genuinely haven’t changed anything. We’re a poorly run football club which needs 5m chucking in every season to undo previous daft decisions.

You are clearly already sick.

Please would you and your various alter egos go and do something constructive for your own team.

Why did Clark go off

It’s difficult to justify going and the decent increase in fans will be undone because by the time we play Blackpool for example we likely will be double figures from safety and the league games will essentially be dead rubbers to us.

Its a really hard watch.

Years gone by id be stressed if we were struggling, would ruin my weekend, would be doing all the mathematics and scenarios through my head but I’m pretty nonplussed. If the club don’t want to change it and give us a chance what’s the point getting worked up by something beyond my control? I’ve never ever felt like that before about Vale. The DC season when we nearly went down I was a mess those last 2-3 weeks before Barnsley bailed us out drawing 4-4 v MK. The relegation I was frustrated as it was so avoidable and felt the lessons of the previous season didn’t get learnt but enjoyed last season and felt we’d put it right by bouncing back and we’d learn and get it right this time…

3rd time in 4 seasons we haven’t so it’s hard. We’ve been pretty diabolical for 2.5 seasons of the last 4… it’s hard to keep caring when it’s that bad.

Sums up my feelings brilliantly except for last season when it was the most unpromotion season ever, even manged to bore the life out of me in the last home game against Gillingham.

More and more fans will turn to apathy as it’s actually quite damaging mentally to care about the club. I’m reaching that point of self-preservation. Some won’t come back.

Loan signings only. Next seasons manager might not want them. Plus what decent player wants to join a doomed club permanently.

Time will tell on that one. Next season’s manager may be signing them, one way or the other.  Plus you’d be surprised where players will go if the money is right.

Carol never understood the home/away fan thing, and I don't think she's particularly attuned to fan trends and moods (I'll never forget the time she thought fans shouting Amoooo when he was being brought on were actually booing him onto the pitch!). Time and again she shows such naivety -putting the mat down for Northampton to walk all over our efforts in the Covid season as some kind of fair-play stance, not kicking up any kind of stink about Reading's antics 2 years ago, then offering the same club cheap tickets this season! Being pals with all the managers then having to stop being friends to sack them.

What we have now is a great-looking ground which is indeed safe and all the other in-phrases (inclusive, safe space etc), but it's thoroughly dull. They've alienated the kind of fan who made the atmosphere in favour of a family picnic vibe. I witnessed a guy being asked to leave the ground for using the f-word not so long ago!

Next up....a ground-sized scarf with all 92 clubs on it and group hugs.

Don’t believe everything you hear smithie bar the lorne street the roof in the other 3 stands isn’t safe at all falling bits railway leaks in halfway down when there’s an heavy downpour and that’s what I got told  by the bloke that overlooks  the ground and head of  security.

He needs go now. That's it. What's going on. Custodians of the club. Act then christ.

Black and gold..

Hey everyone it’s ok, just seen dazzerz mrs an she told me he’ll keep us up! UTV!

That’s a bit far.
Carol isnt rinsing the club.
It’s in a better place than when they took over. However, not on the pitch. And that’s all fans care about.

What she needs to do is start being a leader. Not that fanny Matt Hancock, not her delusional son, HER.
She needs to go all Maggie Thatcher and sort this <ovf censored> out. Now.
Throw her silly pom pom scarf away. Stand up and be counted and if she can’t because she’s clueless then employ someone who can.

Heads must roll.
Moore. The coaching staff. And Hancock.
That’s a start.
Starting on Monday.

Not sure anyone has mentioned it but I thought the attendance was decent today, despite the fact it was the last Saturday before Christmas plus our dire form.  No doubt the ticket offer helped, beyond that there must be a lot of masochists out there.  I’d also add that I thought the fans were fairly positive, at least up until the goal.  We didn’t have much to shout about, apart from the officiating which was some of the worst seen this season.  Shockingly bad.

Carol is on her own here, she has no board of directors or anybody in a position of football expertise.

She is reliant on a decent bloke who is a rubbish footy manager.

His win percentage with us as a league 1 manager is 13% !!!!!! 😎.

My biggest fear is we do a Carlisle, Forest Green possibly Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers and go down again !

I have mentioned the possibility of going down again next season and was laughed out of it. We’re not immune to it , as I think we are going down this season. The club is in disarray. I stayed off here for 5 hours today thinking that when I came back on , Moore would be gone. How foolish I was. It’s a disgrace. A slap in the face to all Vale fans , even the happy clappers. I think we’re all bipolar sometimes, with the way we’re being treated. No disrespect to those who truly suffer from it.  Moore left me fuming today. If I was Bowers , I’d have slapped him with the mic and told him to <ovf censored> off. The arrogance of him .  I’m just disillusioned with the whole  “ you clap my back and I’ll clap yours “ setup.
We have all the coaching staff on the touchline , four or five of them , and they haven’t got a <ovf censored> clue . Not one good idea amongst them  . Waving their arms and doing nothing . Scientists all of them. <ovf censored> is what it is. XG this , minutes in legs that.
We were lucky enough to go up last season , and I still believe that Vale were promoted in spite of Moore , rather than because of him.  I’ve seen enough . Get him gone .

I've come on here late tonight expecting the announcement that he's gone.

Today was pathetic. Every home league game is pathetic. Darren Moore is pathetic. We need a motivator if we're going to turn the results around. DM is the least motivating football manager I've ever heard speak. Nice bloke, <ovf censored> manager.

Get him gone!

Bowers questions after the game were a disgrace.
He was basically licking Moores ass.

Sorry if this upsets him again but my god, he didn’t want to upset him at all did he. He just asked generic questions and I’m pretty sure that deep down he wants him gone as the Vale fan that he is. But that interview was utterly delusional from both.
