Sad the apathy that seems to be setting in.

This and Luton were trips I was pencilling in, but genuinely it’s hard to justify the money and time when it’s likely to be such a miserable afternoon.

I’ll keep an eye on it but it’s strange how little I feel bothered.

My feelings exactly the same, those 2 fixtures alone would have completed all in this division for grounds I have been and made my total up to 64 out of the 92, but sadly like you, I can not be ar**d with what's been severed up at the mo.

On Saturday they need to mix it up a bit and go something like

marosi

John Debbie humphries headley

shipley ojo Curtis

wane faal Paton

committed lads who want to win.

The front 3 also give us pace and movement and should allow Paton to fulfil his potential as a 20 goal a season man

Byers Walters garrity Cole and Stockley may be better players but I don’t think they are suited to what we are trying to achieve . I Also like the danger element of marosi in goal. It should help focus the minds

Headley is a poor defender, evidenced by his abject failure to stop the cross for Plymouth's goal.  I also thought he seemed strangely off the pace for most of the match.

You would imagine that the players would of asked alot of questions about formations, squad rotation, playing your best players, forming a steady settled team and playing round pegs in square holes at the meeting they called. Fair play to them. It shows they care and that Big D is not immune to constructive and balanced criticism. Hopefully it will bring them all together and tomorrow we start turning this mess around.

I should think Carol, Patrick and Matt would of been at the meeting aswell. So it's all out in the open now and proactiveness will now pull them all together.

Fingers crossed. Now go do the talking on the pitch tomorrow and let's get 3 points.

I see nothing but a defeat on the cards personally. Which in its own way has a silver lining either way as it can't get worse, and if we did lose, DM might go (but I still think he stays even then).

Trying to get myself interested for this one but I think I'll have to drink what beers I have left in my fridge just to get through this one. Apathy certainly taking over.

Only just got the FA Cup ticket, but as far as the actual football goes I'm not looking forward to games right now.

Not fit

Ale and Vale said that there was a rumour him and Byers fell out at Bolton, which explains their absence when fit from the Wycombe game (which led to the farce of Hall/Debrah at wingback) and Byers’ absence from Plymouth. With Johnson injured, Headley had to play.

Edited by JoeB2

Were they both weirdly subbed at half time at Bolton despite being our better players in the first half?

Not sure why all the hate.

Another option worth Darren considering would be to play Debbie in a more attacking position . His long throw ins. Pace and power and his underrated ball control could make him a good link up man to create room for wane and faal to exploit. I’ll have to have a proper think about how I could fit that into a formation though. I’d have to balance in if it would upset ojo or not

This is an excellent parody.

Well we aint scored for that long why not like you say mix it up i like your imagination .

Thats a me post from years ago

You gotta look for solutions its not working whatever DM ideas are .

As he finds it hard too be anything other than defence first which is fine if we dont concede a goal but  once we do and heads drop well its proven the big names we have do not respond too going behind

At this moment in time this time tomorrow not going take any notice of team selected ,i just hope the ball runs for Vale and whoevers selected justifies there selection .

Headley has been poor all season.  Based purely on performances in league 1 he's done worse than Plant and Shorrock during the relegation season. Added very little creativity and has been a defensive liability.  Gordon looked the better than Hedley when fit this season; both defensively and going forward.

Plant and Shorrock are not the answers to our current woes whether you think they are better than Headley or not

If Lincoln had our injuries, and had to play so many out of position, I suspect they would be down where we are.

Their manager would probably change the system to suit the players he would have at his disposal

I still cant believe people are blaming it all on injuries...other clubs get them you know

I think part of the problem is that we are picking some of the better players with some of the worst players

So maybe he picks all of the best players . And failing that he just picks all the bad players as then they will all be on the same level.

For instance never have Byers play with Curtis and Paton .

Have Ojo play with Curtis and Paton . Three bad players

And Byers play with Cole and Hall

This mix and match is no good. Just pick players who are on the same level as each other . Maybe try the bad 11 on sat and see what happens

My selection

Gauchi

John Hennigan Humphries Headley

           Byers       Walters

G Hall           Ben G              Curtis

cole

According to the BBC :

  • Port Vale have failed to score in each of their last five league games (D1 L4), with the Valiants never going six matches without scoring in their Football League history.

No pressure then 😬
