Match Thread - Lincoln City v Port Vale

Moore’s reasoning will be that it’s a back 4 “in possession” - Curtis will push up etc.

Without the ball though he’ll have standard defensive responsibilities and will get cooked time and again.

Well, the latest results of the Darren Moore roulette are.......a mixed bag (as per)

Full kudos for bringing the funso back in from the cold, good pairing of JS and DC up front with the possibility of useful crosses from RC - would have preferred Headley there, but we've got attacking options with this line up 👏👏👏👏

If I didn't know better, I would say this has to be a flat back 4. But it will be 3412 with Curtis on the left, won't it? Stockley and Cole with Hall ahead of Ojo and Garrity makes some sense though.

Curtis is definitely playing at LWB @MBE

That's how I had it in my mind or 4-3-3

I just resign myself to defeat every game now, saves so much disappointment come 5pm.

Well it's a more attacking line up than he usually opts for... we shall see.

Maybe Jayden’s nice little chats will pay off

Given that 3 senior players are starting Ojo, Stockley and Curtis I'm guessing that these 3 were the ones that called the meeting.

Broadly agree. I’m going for Shockley and Ojo.

What’s a useless <ovf censored> clown of a manger.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

MOORE OUT

This formation looks much stronger in the midfield where we normally get overran. I have a bit of hope.

That’s a surprising number of attacking  players on the bench.

Anyone even daring to suggest it’s not three at the back need to give their head a wobble. THe bigger question is whether it’s Cole and Stockley up front with hall behind, or three up front with Cole out wide. With any other manager, it shouldnt even be a consideration but here we are. Looking at the bench, theres also a question of who plays right wing back when john goes off again.

Not at all. That's in readiness for the 1-1-8 formation when we're 3-0 down

I hope they are watching Sheffield United on how to score goals

If you want to know how to score goals....watch Coventry.  They play in such an uninhibited way going forward that is breathtaking at times. Sure they concede goals too, but it's almost like saying to the opposition; you score a couple of goals and well score 4....and they do! Talk about confidence. There's is sky high. 47 goals scored in 17 league games. As we know, we've managed just 11!

Trust the manager he knows what he is doing
