I’m told this fact that I found quite interesting. Of the 66 teams that were in the football league when Argyle joined in 1920/21 and have also remained continually in the football league since. Only PVFC and PAFC have not played in the old first division/Prem.

Not sure about interesting. A tad depressing, more like 😉.

Tolag moved from Switzerland to I think Brighton , he then moved to Aldershot (but may have still lived around Brighton. He then Moves to Burslem and lives up here . He then has the opportunity to move to a club who has historically been bigger and higher up the league than us , on more money and able to live in Devon .   Hello - I love Staffordshire because I was born and bred here - But come on , more money and assisted home in Devon.  He has no long term affiliation to North Staffs or any other place in England . He is just looking for a better place to earn a crust and have a decent life .....until his next move. Devon is a step up  .  He has backed his ability, its just that Plymouth back the wrong manager.

Yes, Plymouth used to be a great place to live. So many nice places around the coast in such a short travelling distance. Night life down Union Street was better than anything I experienced in Stoke.

Agreed. But he doesnt have to live in Plymouth a 30 mile radius is easily, and acceptably, an easy commute a few times a week . There are more people who head to Devon than want to head to Burslem. I've worked all over the UK and parts of Europe but I always came "home" but I have to admit there are far nicer places that Stoke on Trent . To someone like Tolaj North Staffs isn't home plus I don't think he's married or got kids yet so he is still just happy to be working in Nice places and getting more money each time . If he meets a woman and she convinces his to settle in one particular spot then he may start to call that Home, but at the moment he is a nomad .

Is that why he came to Vale, because he’s a Normid.?

You mustn't have been around in the 70's PA as Stoke-on-Trent had some of the best night life in the UK with The Place, Placemate (Became Sammi Belle's), Cheshire Cat, Maxim's not to mention The Torch and Jollees. There were also venues like The Adulte, Strikes, Tiffany's, Top Rank and others.

Not too far away were Sidings in Alderley Edge if you wanted to try your luck and go "Up market" and Valley Lodge near Manchester airport.

Way before Tolaj's time I know but S-o-T was absolutely buzzin' with nightlife in the 70's/early 80's.

No idea about the nightlife in Plymouth. What i do know is bus loads from all over the midlands used to come to Hanley for The Place Chicos etc in late 70s early 80s. Great night out in Hanley.

Did anyone other than me enjoy the crazy nights in The continental Wine Bar at the bottom of Cobridge 😁👍

And to second  another fave above - Cheshire Cat on Christmas Eves - NICE - I'm going a bit misty eyed now 🤩

and for the young in 2025 there is ?  40 to 50 YEARS ago it was ok but now the nightlife is none existant. Even the pubs are a dying breed - how many have shut in Burslem alone.

Just listened to our managers thoughts on this weekend....I have never heard such a pile of bland non-inspiring repetitive token waffle ever... passionless wage stealer...he knows he's hopeless but won't back down and do the honourable thing...😓😩

was only talking to my mate at work yesterday about us growing up in the 80/90s and how we really had the best of it - what have the youngens got now to look forward to every weekend, other than singing their hearts out at VP 😯

Lol come on Barny, what were your fave nights out 🤩

See Peterborough have made a better start than we did against Stockport. If it stays like it is then if Plymouth beat us we are bottom and then I think our owner has to act and sack Moore.
