Match Thread - Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

My one issue with the Tolaj move was that he literally jumped at the first sniff of more money. He didn't back himself to get a move to a bigger club. I understand that he's been offered more money but if it were me I'd have waited it out until a really big club came along, not a moderate club in the same division. He literally jumped at the very first sniff of money. Any platitudes about wanting to play for Plymouth are a load of rubbish...it could have been any club that fluttered the money at him.

There's almost certainly interference from an agent here who has seen a quick buck but it's clearly not a career move. He could still get a move elsewhere at the end of the season but will any club be willing to pay the £1 million + that Plymouth would want for him? He might well be back in league 2 next season. If he does, it'll serve him and his agent right.

You must of done well in life based on those above comments

Laurent Tolaj my opinion superb player for Vale who could have done so much better with the skill and quality goals he had in his locker. A minimum sale to a Championship club was there for Tolaj had he waited than jumping ship at the first opportunity and heading to Plymouth. Their fans absolutely love him. As Tolaj is a committed player and their fans forum says that he is one of the only players currently who is putting his all for the team. Tom Claverley is under severe pressure. But Argyle have brought back former manager Derek Adams to attempt to stabilise their fall from grace. Currently on Pasoti PAFC fans forum fans vote is claiming Vale will win.

I believe that Darren Moore has to get a win v PLYMOUTH ARGYLE or he has got to be replaced. Currently Vale have a one home League One victory and that was a stoppage time penalty victory over 10 man Mansfield. It's a shocking statistic and after an initial good away record that has fallen away and the goals dried up.

There is no room for sentiment in football if you don't get the results and when there is still time on their side Vale MUST get rid of Darren Moore's negative tactics.

I don't normally get to too many matches during the season. So far I have attended three home league games and I haven't seen Vale score a goal to date. Please Vale goals in our favour and a home win on Saturday.

Tolaj lived in the club house with Debrah for a year and I don't think he had any intention of settling up north.

Given that his previous clubs include Aldershot and Brighton, I think he wanted a move back down south (maybe he got mixed up and thought he was signing for Portsmouth).

Tolaj loved the player he is gone .

Surely Vale are going score soon

Go the game ,get behind the team .

Sick of saying it 3 home games in league no goals .

Give us something Vale

Love Vale but there a hard love they do my head in league 1

I think they go into every game with no belief

Got a manager whos more concerned about the opposition than bigging up his own players.

Play a top six side

Do we ever score against any of these

For me a mentally weak football club

Are you going show me and the other 6800 season tickets any different.

Time too become strong and silence the misery gut supporters who can not handle league 1 like you cannot players ,manager .

If you can time too show it .

Any road up you do know that we are going to win 2-0 on Saturday don't you?

Guys - he's gone and not coming back.

Let's move on.

Vale 2-0 winners. 3 vital points. You read it here first (just don't ask me how! 🤣🤣)

I'm bloody angry at the ridiculous kick off time. How on earth am I going to supp the required number of pints of Titanic Plum Porter before the game?

I either have to drink less and be sober for the game (perish the thought) or guzzle the usual quantity and spend half the game in the loo.

At the moment the latter option is streets ahead.

🤣🤣🤣

Errrrrr..... second!!

Done the Tolaj stuff before and as I say he went for the money as most of us would have done (be interesting to see what Cole is on compared to Tols now mind!) but we would not have paid that without the sale.

We made £1 million in a year so worked out well, let’s face it he wasn’t solving our scoring problem when he was here and hasn’t changed Plymouth’s fortunes despite doing well so not sure his sale really affects us on the pitch we all know it’s the negative tactics and chopping and changing and wedding to a formation which isn’t working that’s the problem.

It’s a must win, Plymouth are bottom and at home we have to turn up and get a result, anything less is a disaster and should be the end of Moore with us. These concede a lot but can we be clinical for once to take advantage?

They’ve looked even poorer than we have in recent weeks so it’s a huge game. Hard to get excited though and a win would not signal a change in fortunes on its own as these are bottom but at if it boosts confidence and gives us something to build on maybe we can turn it around.

Lose though then it’s going to be a hard road to recovery from there, especially if Carol delays what feels inevitable lately.

We’ve tried literally every other variation, but I think it’s time Jayden Stockley gets a chance from the start.

I’m not sure we’ve got a better plan than launch some crosses at him at present. It really isn’t the worst idea.

Talking to a Plymouth fan yesterday and he says Tolaj has been by far their best player this season and will be key to the, on Saturday. He also says they are similar in their owners are very loyal to their managers but feels Cleverley will be gone if they lose. He reckons Plymouth will turn it around with or without Cleverley as they are in a false position with the squad they have, should be doing better.

🤔🤔 tricky, tricky. Its a narrow path to navigate - i don't think many people realise the nuances inherent within the traditional pre match ritual of lubrication 😁

Stockley would for me be the best option alongside Cole with Paton in the hole .

Id go sat if players are fit if not well choosing be somewhat difficult ,so im going assume John /Johnson are fine if not im going put a player in a position where i think he would excel because of his strong running ,up and down , and you never know he could become a regular in this position .

         GAUCI

John (Garrity )Henegan Humpfries Johnson (Shipley )

        Curtis  Walters Croasdale

                 Hall (Paton).

      Stockley Cole

4 -3 -1 -2

If John doesnt make it Ben Garrity too surge down the right i personally think he be mega impressive in this position because he never stops.

If Johnson dont make it Shipley too  surge down the left simple really he as quality i want see quality

Croasdale was playing ever so well until his game v former club Stockport after his week off he too return and score the 2  chances he missed v Stockport in a few games after .

Id like see Stockley with Cole we are scoring no goals at all and yet DM hasnt used probably our best 2 strikers at the club together .

He is a very strange manager anybody would think he does it deliberately

Play your best players together Moore Stockleys work is generally so superb ,surely him heading down will lead too more goals ,i think last time i saw him play  he headed it 35 yards, crikey if cannot utilise a player like him from Curtis and Paton balls, in its time pack in ..PLAY HIM

Why not i know glad all over but i dont hear it anywhere near enough as what i want too hear it playing

Pick your best players and go for it
