Match Thread - Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

Featured Replies

Tolaj stated when he signed for Plymouth on their local media that it was very happy to sign for a bigger club....

Be nice if we can wipe that particular statement off his face on Saturday.

Just don't want to hear the words "told you so" if he scores from some Vale fans

Im going to be away on my hols getting some Winter Sun 😎 so I will be missing this goal feast. Will have my phone on standby waiting txt alerts from mates. Really hope DM sorts it out and we get the much needed win. Expecting a 1-0 defeat, you know who scoring.

I actually think whatever team is played it will come down to which team want it more.

I just hope the Vale can play and fight for 90+ minutes for themselves, the team, the club and the fans.

I am sure the fans will be up for it, but if the players end up not being then ...............

Working fri night so be doing a shift swap and finishing  2 am sat .

Aftdr watching there local derby v Exeter where there was a complete lack of anything remotely good about there team then for me this a home win .

We are not that bad in fact if game lasts  20/30  minutes we have deserved to be 2 up last three games v much better opposition

Bit of confidence from stalemate at weekend ,not that any of us enjoyed it, because we didnt ,Moore did and the players seemed too ,which was weird because at 25 mins im thinking im going see a home win today im going do the hokey cokey back to my car.

1 substitution later gone evaporated .So  come out sat and get that 2-0 lead first 20 and what  will happen the crowd be buzzing the players be flying and Vale might win one much too my joy and the hokey cokey could be seen heading down Hamil after game .

UTV

If we don’t win this I think Moore has to go. I don’t know what the replacement looks like but this is a game he has to prove to fans he can get out of this mess. A resounding 4 or 5 goal win would go a long way. The players need to also buck their ideas up too. Tense time to be a valiant or a pilgrim at the moment. Hopefully at FT we will all be saying Lorent who!?!

At home, against a side arguably just as bad, if not worse than us. If we don't get at them and attack these, I'm at a loss.

Paton nowhere near it for me, at least one of those chances against Wycombe should be hitting the target minimum.

Connor Hall is nowhere near League One level unfortunately. Would rather play Humphreys on his weak side.

Walters and Garrity both retain their place with improved performances (not hard after Bolton).

Tricky attacking midfield three, George Hall and Curtis can chop and change between eachother down the right.

No real choice other than Cole up front.

                          Gauci

John   Heneghan   Humphreys   Johnson

              Walters         Garrity

 Curtis              G. Hall               Headley

                           Cole

We’ll beat these. But so will everyone. Who else are we gonna beat that’s the question?

Same for me except Garrity in the 10, G. Hall on the right, Curtis in the left and Byers alongside Walters

I like the look of that team. Wouldn't say no to Ojo for Walters then bring him on last 30. If he's blowing a bit. Pro active sub that'd be so highly unlikely.

Question marks over John & Johnson's fitness?

I have a horrible gut feeling that Tolaj scores the last minute winner against us.

This is a must win game at any costs

Yep, I said it on Saturday that it is going to finish 1-0 to Plymouth and that he will score in the last minute.

The bookies have priced this totally wrong:

Vale 4/5

Draw 5/2

Plymouth 3/1

I don't care how bad they are, I'd have this 50/50 at best and leaning more for them to be favs.

It gets dafter. Tolaj is 5th favourite to score, behind Paton Brown Stockley and Cole. !!!

I get the feeling Denise Coates has employed a YTS for this game.
