Match Thread - Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

Featured Replies

I think this game has to be DM's last chance saloon, lose this game and we will be bottom of the league and if Exeter get a point, also more than 3pts from safety. I think both of those scenarios should be enough for the club to act and make a change. I'm not sure if the club will make a change if we pick up a point, though they probably should. For me anything less than a win then a change needs to be made.

Joint top scorer in the division.

Derided on here as he got 2 goals against Burton which didn't count as Burton apparently are cannon fodder.

Hes a bloody good player. Who i wish was still here.

Would you trust our recruitment with 1.2 million ?

I'll applaud the guy. He's gone to a way bigger club who happen to be having a car crash season.

Hopefully we can keep him out as other than him Plymouth look dog.

Absolutely garbage footballer and dreadful man. No good I’m afraid. Will be booing him to kingdom come Saturday lunchtime. Utter hellfire.

Fans talk about us wanting to be a nasty team, wanting us to be difficult, wanting VP to be hostile (we’re too nice under Moore/Carol!) yet will trot on high horses and defend a bloke who crapped on us at the first sniff of opportunity, and lick the boots of Argyle being such a mammoth of a club compared to little old PVFC.

There are loads of reasonable and measured points about why he left, but we’re not interested in them. Irrational hostility to help our team to victory, not sycophantic well-wishery. Get into him. I don’t care.

If you want to be a nice club then crack on. VP should be vile to all opposition players, not a pleasant afternoon of gratitude and grovelling at the knees of a club bottom of the table.

Ahhh you are a glorious ray of sunshine this morning Joe 😂 , even though I loved tolaj while he was a Vale player,he's now the enemy and he needs to be brought down on the field of battle tomorrow ,no prisoners taken by our defensive unit.... UTV VTID 👍 😎

Watching Peterborough last night was Champions league stuff next to our recent efforts. It isn’t about the actual players, it was the cohesive organisation and the squad and everyone in that Peterborough team seemed to have a defined role.

We don’t have that and that is simply thanks to Moore, nobody else. It is a representation of his chopping and changing and playing people out of position.

Posh winning last night has put even  Moore pressure on us for tomorrow.

We have to win. Come on Big D let's get it sorted. End the goal drought, ditch this fear we have of losing and the defensive nature of the team set up once and for all. We only end up losing anyway.

We aren't in League two anymore where the 'fine margins' were far more easy to go in our favour. It doesn't work in this league, at least they don't for us . The step up has been made, let's get set up to acknowledge this and go for it, once and for all. Our season starts again tomorrow.

UTV 💪

Plymouth are a bigger club at the moment of course but has fluctuated over time, I didn't realise they've only won once (the last time) in 7 meetings with us winning the rest, since that season they beat us 5-1 and 2-1 in 2003/04 thats their only win.

Obviously they took Tolaj but its no different to what we did with Purse under Adams so swings and roundabouts really.

We've both spent a large proportion of time rattling around the bottom tiers aside from decent spells in the 90's for us and 10's for them in the second tier and are the two teams never to have played top flight football who have the histories we do.

Either way tomorrow isn't about size or Tolaj or History its about the two poorest teams at present in League One squaring off needing a win. Thats the here and now fact of it.

Well last post has got busy afternoon, funny enough going up Vale ,got sort out why lad isnt getting his 4 pounds  off ,when i paid 30 quid membership ,he is going tomoz ,also get ticket for Lincoln away, won last 3 away 1-0 when im in attendance ,so looking forwards too a new ground for me, and too watch top of the league and Vale surprise them (27 quid for ticket for Lincoln ,you do realise we dont have free travel lol ).

All sorted moved too Railway Paddock from Hamil (used too love it in there banging on sides no real reason just them first 20 minutes when missing chances i cannot see it , back of hamil then the games turn too dross well usually it does  ,i want have 20 mins enjoyment and at least see  the near misses lol ).

Also may aswell get BR cup game tickets aswell .

Tomoz is about showing whats left of the support, those who remain with you and still go , why you in this league Vale .

In a way Joes right should be no nicey nice .

Stoke fans excitedly telling me if lose could go bottom .

Crikey hey what more motivation do Vale need win this 6 pointer .

I think they will .

It'll be interesting to see how many do actually care about Tolaj tomorrow. There's no need to applaud or berate him in my opinion unless we want to fire him up to score against us.

Why is it that all clubs seem to get a new manager bounce straight away except us.

We will have to wait and see on that one 😉 but after last nights result my personal point of view is anything other than a win then DM would have to go for me

It’s really worrying me that other teams are starting to pick up.

Us and Plymouth are the two sides in real trouble. God help whoever loses on Saturday

They are picking up because they have changed managers

Scrape a 1-0 and what happens next? League topping Lincoln and a difficult December.

Back The Vale tomorrow! Tolaj is Port Vale Past, give him hell tomorrow afternoon! Wind him up and get him sent off.

Loved him last season, very little respect for him now. Hope we batter them tomorrow.

Sure curtains for DM if we lose.

UTV!
