Bloomfield should be on Carol’s speed dial for full-time.

Today's the day. Nothing less than a win will do, even if it's just papering over the cracks for now.

3-1 Vale

Name me some mate, not a dig Fred by the way.

I'm genuinely struggling other than Evans and Ferguson who has just been fired and his ex side scored 8 in 2.

Nothing less than a win or DM goes for me.

But cannot think of a candidate. A realistic one.

To be honest with you Darren I couldn't name more than two other managers in either our league or the one below.

I don't follow other teams like I used to long long ago, it's hard enough just keeping up with the Vale, oh how I long for a couple of hum-drum mid season mediocrity seasons so we can all catch our breath.

However I am sure there are plenty of managers out there who would look at both us and Plymouth as potential new employers.

If, and it's a big IF, we are looking for one anytime soon whoever we choose will have my backing (as they all do). They will lose games, win games, draw games, they will at times enthrall us with fantastic football and at other times bewilder us with silly formations or team selections. That's the nature of the game, most level headed football cans can see that, hopefully we will get more of the former than the latter.

Sorry to go off topic, as to today's game I can't wait, both managers need a win, both sets of fans need a win and both sets of players will need a win.

Either they go for it gung-ho and it's a classic 3-3 draw or both are so scared of loosing it's a 0-0 bore fest.

It's 'stoke' or bust day for Darren for lots of fans, not sure about the board but certainly lots of fans.

Can't wait, UTV.

The big day!  Port Vale clear favourites according to the bookies…..Plymouth must be bad!

Nothing but a win today, please.

Over in Lanzarote so hoping to watch it in a pub, cant imagine bottom v next to bottom will be a big draw for most people.

Decent shout Joe.

Excellent job at Wycombe.

Thinking about Tolaj’s development and goalscoring record, you have to say at least personally he made the right choice.

I think he could have scored more for us but tactically we don’t allow for much freedom and creativity. He did well to score what he did especially barely playing or not playing in his correct position for half a season.

Plymouth may be shocking defensively but they create chances and are on the front foot. He’s well on his way to score more goals this season than last against better defences in a poor side.

Would he have scored this many goals for us under Darren Moore had he stayed? I genuinely don’t think so.

Our football is <ovf censored>.

I just want to enjoy watching the games.

Moore has to go regardless.

A draw today is not good enough.

The only way back for me is if we start seeing better performances with more attacking intensity and basic idea.

Worst attack and is now defensively poor too vs worst defence but at least has the league’s top goal scorer.

Whoever scores first will win it. I just can’t see that being us.

I know it's only the end of November but anyone who thinks this now isn't a must win game(not only for us but for DM) is on another planet in my humble opinion

As i say for what it's worth we will win today and then 4 points out of the 2 home games wont look bad at all really

I know he did well at Wycombe but not sure on what his style of play was or if he was attacking etc .... i just wouldn't want another cautious manager

One thing is for sure,if the job was available then plenty would show an interest

You mustn't have been around in the 70's PA as Stoke-on-Trent had some of the best night life in the UK with The Place, Placemate (Became Sammi Belle's), Cheshire Cat, Maxim's not to mention The Torch and Jollees. There were also venues like The Adulte, Strikes, Tiffany's, Top Rank and others.

Not too far away were Sidings in Alderley Edge if you wanted to try your luck and go "Up market" and Valley Lodge near Manchester airport.

Way before Tolaj's time I know but S-o-T was absolutely buzzin' with nightlife in the 70's/early 80's.

Agreed. When I was in my 30's there was a good 15-20 different nightclub and literally hundreds of pubs to go to in Stoke and Castle. My brother and I stayed over the night in Castle when we played Man City and we were shocked that, at 9pm, the whole of Castle was closed. There was only 2 pubs open, no restaurants, no late night burger bars and not a single nightclub.

Depressing state

Why is it that whenever we talk about managers here, there is never anyone willing to come to us, never anyone available, but every other side somehow manages to find someone. Perhaps a proper recruitment process for once would help?

The issue is that in the 3 appointments that we have made since Carol & Kev took over, they have never followed a proper recruitment process.

They have just fixated on one person each time

Totally agree mate, this is one process that would now have to be done properly, this is where we could do with an upto date football person in the club to help out

Big game today and we need to score at least 2 as Tolaj is guaranteed a goal. I know we have a lot of shots but we don't seem to create many clear goal scoring opportunities. Hopefully that changes today.
