Match Thread - Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

So what he's saying is, he's lost the dressing room.

Fantastic.

You’re probably right. I think just trying to deflect from the criticism, as that didn’t make much sense as an interview. But as we know, he’s doggedly sticking to a formation that isn’t working for so long, that he could just be deluded and palm it off as fans being fans.

I went today, taking my 9 and 6 year olds. Had pre-warned them that if we lost there might be some (more) rude words than usual. Hardly a surprise after that performance. I thought we were ok for some of the first half… how Devante missed that sitter god knows, but clearly it was inevitable Tolaj would be the one that would score and they’d nick it. Thought Argyle were crap. A terrible match all round. I didn’t think Garrity was that bad today, but so obvious the formation doesn’t work as we didn’t have a centre midfield. So pedestrian - no urgency to move the ball around or make space. George Hall was the only slight positive.

Could we convince him to sack himself? He can sit in the comfy seats instead and watch the new manager he appoints stand in his technical area in the rain playing with all of his hoods.

I wouldn't be opposed to DM moving upstairs and being the football person at the club unless he appointed a manager who played his type of football, that would be my worry

What does she need to be sure about? If we sack him we literally can't be in a worse position. Even a single goal under a caretaker manager against Lincoln would be an improvement.

Don’t disagree, only hoping that’s the reason she hasn’t sacked him already.

What we’re all missing apparently is our XG I know what it means, but really. Oh Yes and the fact that we’re failing to make contact with ball, is this DM’s best defence for keeping his job. Admittedly it’s a better defence than he puts on the pitch.

Personally I’d blame Boomer for today’s lacklustre performance in front of the RP. Only banged on the advertising board twice today and got no response from the crowd. It’s things like that that transfers to our performance on the pitch.I personally hold the person responsible for our inept home performances. I don’t think they’re fit to wear the outfit. Another performance where I think we were lucky to be nil.

Only if the keeper doesn’t stand in the middle of the goal

Their keeper was a proper whopper. Constant ‘housery’ from him

The clubs owners are backing The Moorebore.   Back to league 2 it is then.

I'm just disappointed my  lovely 150 year anniversary shirt will now be associated with the dross I have watch this season.  I didn't want it to go in the same "never to be worm again" drawer as the yellow and black hoops from 2 years ago.

There’s me still waiting for them to get stock of the large home shirts. I may not bother now unless things change

She saved the club, and everyone should be eternally grateful for that, but she also has the same issues with managers time and time again. Everyone can be criticised. Her blind loyalty to a manager is threatening to relegate us again. She's the managers boss, not their best mate and confidant. She's not 'Auntie Carol', she is the owner of a professional football club. This happened with 'Uncle' Norman and his 'sweetie jar'. This attitude as a fan contributes to us being in the position we're in again imo. Treat owners with respect, but also treat them as the professionals they are and hold them to account when they are making the same mistakes over and over again.

Spot on.

All good clubs have a long term project but are ruthless about anything that gets in the way of their ambitions.

This is the quality that Carol lacks - she is sentimental about managers, gets too close to them and then can’t make the difficult decision when it’s as plain as the proverbial nose on your face.

Talk about learning the hard way, hard for us, that is.

I dont know if it was a club statement but it was what RS understood(they must of been told by someone at the club, well Bowers probably was).. ended it by saying that he will be in charge for the Lincoln game

Well we won’t be winning the Lincoln game for sure

The clubs statement on backing Moore is the most depressing part of the day, even more so than the result. No rationale,  just hope beyond hope and further points behind any glimmer of getting out of this diabolical mess we find ourselves in.
What Club statement? Have I missed something?

Maybe he then gets the Bradford game to try and turn things around 🙂

I continue to be baffled at how Ruari Paton starts games ahead of Jayden Stockley.

A good lad and a grafter but non-league. His finishing is appalling.

Not just me then.

Stockley was awful when he came on.

Nailed on that would happen - he just needs to go. Thanks, Dazza but your time is up.

He rocked up in a beaten up old hatch back and drove off in top end suv with blacked windows. That's what Vale done for him.

We carried him on our shoulders down Boslem.

He has shown zero thanks or respect for us putting him where he is now.

No class, no respect. Fk him 👍

I did see him clap towards the Hamil at the end?

Seen all this before, and it’s hardly surprising. Not worth getting in a tizz about
