Match Thread - Port Vale v Plymouth Argyle

So someone decides the lure of £1.2 million was too good to turn down, the only difference today between two poor sides was Laurent Tolaj. He would have been the asset to keep Vale in the division this season and then build from there on, without any doubt Vale's position would be a better one if he'd stayed, the present forward line up couldn't hit a barn door with a brick. Why not give Ben Waine a go, can't do any worse than those currently being picked?

Whoever made that decision to sell, has to live with it like the rest of us.

Have you seen Ben Waine play?  Ps I don’t think Darren Moore had either before he signed him!

He isn't alone there though is he

He’s not Hoppers but he’s the one player who fans have said not had the chance…can’t say that now.

There was no decision to sell.
he had a release clause. They met it. And he couldn’t wait for the chance to jump ship.

we can criticise the club for a hell of a lot, but not Tolaj leaving. It was out of our hands.

100% this.  We were a stepping stone for Tolaj,  just as Plymouth will be when they finish 2nd bottom.

Just back. Two <ovf censored> teams today! A mid-table League Two on offer.

No plan or strategy. Clueless, Keystone Cops Football. We couldn't even pass the ball. Imagine being the match day sponsor and having to choose a 'Man of the Match?'

Worst game of football I've seen for some time.

Might as well give him another game!

Todger absolutely loved being the villain today, oh to have a c@ck wind up merchant playing for us

Oh Yeah that's genius give Darren another game so we can sit through another bore fest where we inevitably lose yet again ,

Give me strength , ffs , He should be long f#ckin gone by now after recent performances and results

If it’s true that his jobs not in danger then I despair. What could they possibly see in that performance that makes them think he’ll turn it round.

We are <ovf censored>.

Nice to see some of us

Just me who thought that Gauci could have done a bit better for the goal, again?

The attitude of our team was summed up today when their number 2 went down with a time wasting non-injury for the 2nd or 3rd time, and we gave them the ball back…. Too nice

You're clutching at straws mate

Even if we draw that gane 0-0

It's still not bloody good enough

Our manager can't hack it at this level

Just seen it back, 100% should be saving that. But as per, <ovf censored> defending.

I think the worst thing today (among many things) was as soon as we went a goal down you knew we weren’t winning the game. Can only think of Walsall away under DM where we have come back to win, am sure there are others but that’s the only one that comes to mind. I think George Hall was good and personally made a point of applauding him specifically at the end. Heneghan did a decent job too while he was on.

The goal we conceded having seen it again is infuriating. Firstly it’s criminal to concede straight after half time like that regardless but starting with a very half hearted attempt at blocking the cross by Headley and Gauci with a serious case of popadom wrists letting that one in. He got enough of a hand on that he should have pushed that around the post.

It sounds like the reason we gave the ball back to them is because the referee told Devante to do so if it had been me in that situation I would definitely have not given the ball back.
