Not sure how you can come to this conclusion. He was probably in our top 3/4 players last season, and was integral to how we attacked, especially with his partnership with Tolaj. We played up to him and he held the ball up well and won many flick ons to Tolaj. We also got crosses in the box to actually create for him.

This season, after getting injured, he’s been demoted to playing in tinpot trophy games, and is never played up top with a proper striker partner. He’s left completely isolated. And when he comes on in the league, the changes Moore makes mean we lose all sense of structure, and create zero chances. Our crossing is also diabolical, it’s regressed massively from last season.

He’s played majority of his career in league 1/championship and so clearly he’s been successful before at the level. Even before the season we had him when he was at Fleetwood he got 1 in 4 for a poor relegation team, with numerous assists in addition.

Shows you what a farce this competition become.

Liverpool played Rhys Williams last night and had 37 year old Jay Spearing on the bench

Isn’t Rhys Williams the guy that Flitcroft brought on loan and we sent him back before he played a game because he was being a knob in training??

Double post - ignore.

On my own here again i guess but i actually think Faal was better than Stockley last night to be fair to him, although none of the players were any good really

Bit like saying a bash on the nose  is better than a kick in the shorties.

Yes, that is correct

Why play them both together is the question. It is baffling tactically. I loved Stockley last year but I do feel he is a L2 striker. Faal is probably National League North. Brown is maybe national league level as he was mustard for Gateshead but is unproven at L2. God knows what Waine is.

We have one L1 quality striker in Cole. Paton is the next best. I really like him but unsure whether he is L1 quality yet.

To be fair, we did play a back four partway through last season, we did so in the 4-1 win at Newport to great effect, and then against Chesterfield at home, then changed to a back three at half time when we were 2-0 down at Accrington and stuck with it for the rest of the season.

Moore though seems to want 3-4-3 to work in spite of it being our least effective formation. Don't forget we started at Rotherham with that formation and were hopeless, changed to a 4-3-2 at half time following Headley's sending off and should have won the game.

I agree and we've also gone to 4 at the back when chasing games this season.

I do think it's time for DM to give 4 at the back a go in some form of a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 from the start as we have the players to play in such a system and we do seem to concede a lot of goals created from the space behind the wing backs.

I always liked John Askey's 4-3-3 with the ball and 4-5-1 without.

It’s a chicken and egg with Paton. You’ll never find out if he’s any good in this league if you keep dropping him. He was doing sort of OK with Cole and he’s worth a punt with his free kick ability

G Hall is class imho and should be playing every week not just when Mars is in Conjunction with Venus.

That’s him alright.

We simply have to get two new defenders in January to have any glimmer of hope. The trouble is that’s 8 games away and we will probably be 12 points adrift by then and cut off. What an absolute mess we’re in yet again in league one.

A New Manager is more  of a priority, imo

What will you do when Moore eventually does go? Will you start a campaign to get rid of his replacement as soon as he's appointed?

No I dont think so, as I think Nips will be the new manager 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Only joking Nips  - pint of Stella in Hassle Castle Wethers waiting for you 😍👍😁

Barnsley, Blackpool, Bradford or Stockport at home next round looking at our half of the draw. All tough games
