You could clearly see where Vale are going wrong in that game.

Fleetwood are a workmanlike league 2 side. They fielded no obvious stars, but there players were mostly organised, moved the ball quickly, played to a plan and were committed defensively.  Without 2 horrendous attempts to play offside, we would have been embarrassed tonight.
Vale by comparison are ponderous in possession, have no one who can carry the ball forwards quickly, and constantly leave our forwards isolated.

The reliance on the wing back system and the above limitations mean that our only “surprise” option is to switch the ball quickly to the opposite flank.   This involves  leaving both wingbacks very wide, meaning that the midfield is stretched and if a risky switch ball goes wrong, or we simply lose possession, it leaves us horribly exposed at the back.  This cost us two goals tonight.

if I can see the tactical limitations of our system, why can’t Moore?

It’s a game which neither the club, manager, players or fans are arsed about. Nothing more than reserve training matches.

I'm sorry but I disagree, they are professional footballers, playing is what they train for, top pro's in any sport don't switch off, thats what sets them apart from part timers and amateurs if they can't be arsed then there really is a problem.

Things are getting a bit nasty with Moore on social media at this point. Like genuinely quite personal, nasty comments about the way he talks and some quite horrendous foul language.

It's quite embarrassing. It's most likely time for a change, but Moore delivered promotion just over 15 games ago. You can think a manager needs to go without debasing yourself and the club.

I do worry about some folk. Awful emotional regulation to the point where they'll level quite vile stuff at a bloke because we're not winning games of football, a mere 6 months after hooting and hollering in the away end at Wimbledon.

You simply know that the same comments will be made at Carol in due course, as they were two years ago, because folk are quite poorly and struggle to handle their team not doing well.

A stain on PVFC to be honest.

I don't think it's a Port Vale thing all football clubs suffer from this kind of abuse, just look at Liverpool supporters.

If and when he does go, I would hope we were decent enough to acknowledge that he's one of only three managers in the last three decades to achieve promotion and delivered a really enjoyable run of games last season - Crewe, Bradford, Walsall, Bromley was as fun as it gets as a PVFC fan. A really decent man who has probably ballsed it a bit.

Social media is just like that (now?)

A poisonous, horrible place.

Minutes in legs

Happy with how it played out 😂

Three goals conceded tonight with all our main first choice centre halves playing. The big annoyance is two goals came from the same player in exactly the same position with the same finish.

Take out playing an 8th tier side and that’s 10 conceded in 3 games.

Positive second half we got three good goals and could of had a few more, Ojo was outstanding tonight the ball for the third was well found as was the sublime ball for the first.

Byers, Ojo and Walters maybe worth a go Saturday.

Ojo at fault for the 1st not closing down, Curtis playing at WB exposed against a player more athletic than him and didn’t track him for both goals.

3 very poor goals, CB’s not at fault for any of them.

I’ve said this before but it’s the tactics of  the manager, how he deploys the midfield to split wide regardless of personnel which leaves us with a massive gap for teams to get at our defence easily which makes CB’s job even harder. DM’s tactics are <ovf censored>.

Ojo best Vale player by a country mile tonight but how George Hall is not playing in our midfield I have no idea what DM is thinking.

Almost a quid a goal if you count the penos. Not bad really, though I suppose Bolton almost got that for a league ticket price.

Yes he should have gone .

But your going sit there laughing on sat ?

Really

Great support that

Its a nothing game tonight .

On sat its a big game where we need the very people who attended v Gillingham.(garbage performance absolutely terrible )turn up and try get a performance out the 11 he selects .

If he as lost changing room he will be gone soon enough .

But wish bad on the folk who go watch the Vale and will continue watching the Vale well thats low .

4-0 defeats not going be good is it

I’ve done my stint.
Spent thousands on travel when I lived abroad.
Fought to get Bratt out.
Fought to get Smurthwaite out.
Loved the connection with Micky and Darrell.
Spent more money than I’ve ever realised on this club.
The Andy Crosby saga got me fed up and I couldn’t let this club get me down again for my own health.
Now the same is happening again.

You don’t ever get to question my support. Especially not now. I don’t wish bad on the folk who watch the game and the regurgitation of “we need the fans to turn up” becomes beyond braindead after a while.

Most won’t.
I won’t.
It’s obvious what will happen.

There are three types of football supporters these days. Those that go whatsoever whenever because it’s their religion. Those that get angry and yet still go and end up hurling abuse and those like me that decide, for my own health, I’ll sit back and watch the mistakes be made and not let it get to me anymore.

Total fair play to you. Honestly.
At 5pm on Saturday night, just don’t let it affect you’re weekend.

onwards and upwards PLEASE VALE !!! KER FECKIN  RUBBISH TONIGHT

COME ON YOU WHITES  !!?

We really need to work this team around players who are comfortable on the ball and can work in a forward thinking way. We do have those players.  We have seen again how Ojo is on the ball and tonight was able to pick intelligent balls forward. Hall is such a talent and wants to get forward into dangerous positions and along with Ojo must to our main frame of the team. Walters too, along with those two lads is not afraid of having the ball. Must have grit in that mid area too and Croas needs to be the bulldog in there. Our defence really does worry me with our right side pulled way too much to the centre tonight leaving massive gaps. Only Humphreys is a confident ball player. Paton and Cole must start Saturday with Hall tucked in behind and work at keeping them pinned in their half by closing down. Hard but they must work as hard as they can. If we let them come on to us we fail as too fragile now. We can get out of this if the team is set up to cause the opponent problems with the ball players we have.
