Match Thread - Bolton v Port Vale

Featured Replies

Just out of interest, would everyone agree we have a better squad now than when we were last relegated from league 1? Then what's the common denominator?

Massive MASSIVE mistake by Headley today for the first goal. Agree we looked good. OK no goal but decent all round set up and play. Chances created were not poor misses, they were half chances and we did not score. Bad mistake and we let a topo team get on top, gain confidence and yes, we then crumble.

At Northampton Bolton missed two sitters and Northampton did not crumble. Not sure if we have had that sort of performance so far.

I have to say Nips, I cant disagree

And im sorry why have they sent out kyle john for the interview. Where is our club captain been hiding for weeks on the field and off it

When was the last time he spoke to the press?

Well, for one, I'm here.

And I say give him more than one season, because this is a long-term project.

Once again, the challenge this season is simply to consolidate in this division - achieve that, and this season is a success.

And we will not be playing a Championship-budget team every week.

Look at the league :

15 games gone

11 goals

I agree the challenge is to remain in div 1   - but really do you believe we will !!

Long term project yes but a relegation after 1 season must not be part of the plan.

Do we spend money on a new manager and presumably have less to bring in defensive reinforcements, or stick with the current manager and try and bring in defensive reinforcements?

I said some time ago after the transfer window we'd still be looking at defensive players in January and nothing is changing my mind there. We've looked light on the defensive recruitment all season, Humphreys the only decent signing there. It's a bit surprising given Moore is a centre back by trade we haven't made this more of a priority.

Darren has had enough time to mould his squad

This is his team and  there's too many square pegs in round holes

The squad isn't balanced at all and the blame lord with the manager

The players have given up. That’s the time. It’s not even the results. It’s the complete collapse of mentality. The time has come. This ain’t coming back.

Is that what Garrity has been showing us for a few games now ?

The last time was the 22nd September, before Arsenal.

Perhaps take the time to read the post to which I was replying, rather than just posting a complete non sequitur.

What does non sequitur mean ?

8 goals conceded in the last 3 in the league, none scored including one game with the majority against 10 men. Only cup wins against teams either in the league below or the Isthmian league north since September. Joint bottom of the league. Horrendous summer recruitment. Another embarrassment of a post match interview.

Thanks for getting us up Darren, but it's time to move on.

Captain Fantastic should have been doing the interview, not poor Kyle john. Did he go over to the fans today?

And who's still the manager?
