In the group of horrible manager, but he gets the results and if he did ever come to Vale Park would back him.  You have to give that to him - he does get results and his team set ups are attack minded, can play the dark arts of the game by his team falling over and conning officials - not like our nice players who don't do that.

Cole was being double marked when we ventured into their half.  How can he score when he is the lone striker and marked that way.  Balls into the area went to no Vale players a lot of the time and when he tried to loose his markers another defender was there and so it was hard for him to get a chance to score when this was happening to him.  Wish DM would get his defenders to watch other teams mark players and try it.

He needed help when playing the lone striker and there was none there and that is not his fault.  That is down to the side DM put out.  You could have the best striker and if marked that way will find it hard to score.

100%, but that’s his style of play, feed off others- he’s a goal scorer, and I agree with you, if he ain’t scoring goals then he offers very little although you will get loads who disagree with us. He should never be played as a lone striker, if we have to play a lone striker then it should be Paton, someone who works his socks off
