Sort of agree but there are 21 games left, 11 at home (I think) and we’ve got to look after BAU.

It was starting to get toxic last Saturday and it will only get worse if we throw in the towel now. A disastrous end of the season could get very ugly and cause a hangover that carries over into next season.

We have to show at least a bit of something

Exactly this.  As bad as things look in terms of survival, if we go down why not go down fighting.  That at least sends supporters the right message for next season.

Darren Moore's football was the worst football I have ever seen at the Vale. Defensive uninspiring. He was in Charge of the players, tactics and performances.

Did you watch Aspins teams?

He made Moore’s approach look gung ho.

So, let’s get this straight, everybody believes what Unofficial Vale says even thought that clueless twaat got nothing right for a number of years??

This is again another case of how gullible Vale fans are that they want to grab hold of anything of what anybody says because they can not stand the thought that a jakf decent player like Cole doesn’t want to stick around and play for their club that is in the biggest free fall that I have seen in my 45 years of supporting the club:

Absolute bullshiit and an unnecessary rumour from someone that does not have a clue and absolute bs from everyone on here that believes him

I don’t for one second believe that Devante Cole managed to track down Carol.

If he's violating himself when he should be working he should be sacked right now.

Well it’s not like he’s rushed off his feet showing new players round is it?? So why not 🤣

Again in context. Vale at the time were being run into the ground. Asking didnt have the resources Moore had.

Yeah agreed. it was obvious from a squad building POV with both being out of contract one of them was going to go. I would have kept Smith of the two but wasn't surprised Moore chose Debrah as he picked him more often in the L2 season. I'd wager that Moore probably just liked Jesse personally over Smudger.

There was the possibility Debrah had more scope to develop.  Another poster has said Debrah had an option to extend his contract which is what happened.

If you look at it in pure business terms it probably is pragmatic but football is not like other businesses, it plays on emotions. We are not merely customers, we have an emotional attachment to the club.

Selling our only goalscorer in this position without replacing him is the club saying "we're writing this season off, we give up this season." As a fan, I can believe the season is done but a club cannot publicly express this even if its their belief.

Its a matter of pride if nothing else. Do you think they would stop selling matchday tickets? Do you think they will stop taking corporate hospitality money? Do you think they will stop asking for support on away trips? Do you think the club shop will no longer be open for business?  No, they will continually ask us to spend more money despite their own public declaration that they have given up.

That would be unacceptable to me, pragmatic perhaps, but it simply cannot happen without massive fallout in a game where people are not customers, but fans with a great sense of pride in their football club.

Yeah youre probably right and for several weeks I have found it increasingly laughable the calls to action for fans to 'pack the park', 'make it a night to remember', 'create an atmosphere' when the reality was the club had sleep walked in to relegation by mid November.

Keeping the good players, selling the good players... it wont make a difference. Were gone.

Cole will not want to play league 2 football. We will be a league 2 club. I'm not sure the club are actively out to sell all our good players this window but the positives to it are these players can't keep us up so let's save some money.

An embarrassing season. An embarrassing situation. But what you going to do? They wont learn and they dont listen.

Thought I'd put together a little table showing our current squad registration spots, we seem to have one spot left available for somebody coming in, others will require players leaving.

How do we go down fighting?

Does keeping Cole give us this fight?

Who do we sign to give us the fight? 7th tier defenders may be up for it i suppose.

Realistically we would only get players coming in to earn, not arsed about port vale or fighting for us. January isnt the time of year, and we are properly bad at doing deals in Jan.

Which of our fantastic playing staff have shown any fight?

Its irreversible.

She hasn't got an endless amount of money. If things make sense financially then she should do it now. No further harm can come as long as we use this time to ensure next season is a success or at the very least not a huge calamity

Plus most of these players have shown themselves to be complete pricks. Weak men. Losers.

<ovf censored> them off.

It’s been a bit of a shyit season so far, but what a real exciting window for Vale as it stands. Teams will be standing watching in amazement and jealousy as Vale have shown a real go and a sign of the statement of intent to stay in the league.
