The main issue I do have with xG it doesn’t factor in who is taking the shot! For example Lewis Wing who pings them in for these from 30 yards regularly would have the same xG from that position as Ben Henneghan doing it!

Limitations will all stats. Only really one we need to worry about.

One for any (like myself) going by train. The boozer is just outside the station.

Heneghan has to play tomorrow for me. Don’t see how it’s fair to not play him after his two cup performances.

Are tickets available on the day?

Wonder if Brown will go straight into the squad for this one or will DM do the old “needs more volume” and hold back until Leeds in the Pizza trophy?

I would expect a bench appearance personally with about 20 mins.

Agree. Its a little different to Faal though as he didn't miss any of his preseason with Derby that I'm aware of. They will have started working on shape and formation on Wednesday or Thursday before he signed.

Match day.

Prediction: 2-1 to the Vale

- Jesse finally gets one in off a corner

- Paton makes his mark

They seem pretty confident. Talks of 3-0 on their forum. If we play how we have been doing I don't think this will be as easy as they think.

Reminder, this is the out of town, adjacent to a TK Maxx and Tesco distribution warehouse, generic identikit ground waste of an EFL space David Brent clowns we're playing today.

Just utterly beige, bland dirge. The complete antithesis of British Isles football. Take your car dealerships and retail park B&Q garden centre and <ovf censored> off.

There’s a chant in there somewhere, but hard to get right and rehearsed with only a few hours notice.

Come on Vale! First league win of the season today! Let's get at 'em early and take some of our chances in the first half, so we're out of sight by half time.

UTV!
