Moore sounds utterly fed up which is worrying really.

2 wins in 23 at L1 level under Moore, is it worrying?

I know people having a go at Waine but the more egregious one today was Faal. He clearly didn’t fancy it at all.

Infuriating as they were no good but once they scored again did anyone seriously think we’d level it up? DM sounds like he wants to transfer list the lot of them from his PVTV interview. Perhaps it’s time to send a message to one or two.

Has a bloke on Radio Stoke just compared Ben Waine to Michael Owen?

The only similarity to Michael Owen is that he has two eyes, two arms and two legs.

We currently have a forward line mainly consisting of raw, journeymen, and cast offs. No potential to score, just like last time in Div 1. I appreciate what Carol has done, but surely with transfer fees and money from cup runs we can invest in a decent striker. At the moment we’re going straight back to Div 2.

It's a very frustrating time for Valiant fans as our 2025-26 season can be summed up so far by the title of the legendary film "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly".

The Good - Performances on the whole decent and wins in League Cup giving us a tie against Arsenal.

The Bad - our points total in League 1 so far

The Ugly - Our goal scoring record. Summed up I think by Wimbledon who virtually everyone thought would finish bottom of League 1 because they struggled to score in League 2, scoring two in one game today at Bradford which equals our goal scoring record in 6 games!

As others have said, we are not yet at the stage of needing to win games. However, as each games passes, with not scoring and losing, each game that passes will become pivotal if things don't change. We have played over an eighth of the season, have no wins, two points and scored two goals. We all know where that puts us at the end of the season if not remedied.

Said before that Moore has to earn his money to get us to score goals so we can change the course of games and get points on the board ASAP. The 50 point mark that most believe is what we need to stay up is a million miles away based on our scoring record so time is ticking very quickly to get our team to start producing the goods in terms of goals and points otherwise our season will become very ugly.

That's now officially a disastrous start to the season. Lots of tight games but ultimately only 2 goals & 2 points on the board. Long way to go, but fear the slow start may come back to haunt us come April/May next year. Toothless & predictable.

It's clear where the issues lie. We need a bagsman, but I fear we aren't going to find an adequate one before close of play Monday.

We've been terribly unfortunate in the opening 6 games, but that excuse is now wearing very thin after 3 x straight 1 goal defeats. We've got to start scoring goals, it's as simple as that.

Massive couple of days for the club. All of last seasons good will & momentum will very quickly siv away, it's already begun. It's even more frustrating when you see Bradford & Donny up at the top.

Never ever simple with Vale is it. Either top after 10 games, or rock bottom. Always a drama & never a steady midtable season. Strap yourselves in for yet another ride.

only because of pi55 poor decisions. poor recruitment and things being done on the cheap.

Today’s game shows the blindingly obvious: we need an experienced, proven striker or we are going to be in big trouble.

Just consider our existing line up of six strikers:

Two young players on loan with no track record of goals

A striker who couldn’t score in L2 or on loan in the SPL

A striker whose maximum tally in the EFL is five in any one season

A winger who is not really a striker

A proven striker who at 32 is having more than his fair share of injuries

We could of course take a risk with what we have (and that is what I think Dazza is inclined to do because in numerical terms he already has a very large contingent of strikers) but it would be a very big risk indeed.

The warning lights are flashing red: we have been here before and it did not work out too well. The question is, will we be able to resolve this in the two days we have left?

Relegation is nailed on unless Darren ends up seeing the light and recruits at least one proven striker .

Last time we ended up with Ryan Loft.

Its not that we are playing badly, we aren't, and its not like the players aren't putting the effort in, they are, but we are just toothless and we can't seem to carve out a proper chance its all half chances apart from the one brown missed.

We have a lot of decent ball winners and grafters in the middle but we lack creativity our final ball is usually terrible and when we do put a good one in nobody is getting on the end of it. Now whether that is  due to lack of movement in front of the midfield players or lack of creative ability in our midfield Im not sure but we need to work on putting the ball into dangerous areas and getting bodies in there to finish it off.

Faal treading on the ball and falling over, brown putting it into orbit when he was through one on one with the keeper and waine heading it closer to the corner flag than the goal is the main reason we lost today. A defensive lapse for sure but how many defensive lapses did they have plenty from what I saw the difference was they found a finish we didnt.

Some fans coming out the woodwork tonight ! Wow.
we will win Saturday , chill yourselves out, you bunch of flappers !

wouldn’t want to be in the trenches with some of the persons posting on here.

if after 10 games we are still without a win , then maybe , maybe I’d panic.

It may become a question I felt he sounded despondent which is a worry. Didn’t sound like a man about to spend £1 million to solve the problem.

Matt Hancocks interview didn’t exactly fill me with confidence either… we will spend it if the right one comes along but if not confident in the group we have.

He won 3 out of 22 league matches at Championship level with us.

Perhaps he is only a league 2 Manager (at best) as he did very well with you last season but as per your stats, he cannot win you matches in league 1?.

But then, his promotion and season with Wednesday contradicts that? (And you beat Birmingham City!).

I think he beats himself with negativity and setting Teams up where Players have the shackles on.

League 1 this time is extremely poor, no stand out sides at all.

He will get you enough points that mean we will be playing each other in league 1 next season I reckon!.
