Match Thread: Birmingham v Port Vale (League Cup)

So we've got an initial allocation of 2,000, but won't know if we need any more until Friday afternoon at the earliest (going into a bank holiday) due to releasing the tickets at a snails pace less than 1 week before the fixture. Come on Vale, use your brains for a change. Reduce, the release periods to 3 hours like every other club with a loyalty scheme, instead of every 24 hours over a 4 day stretch...

Was just thinking about this. Makes very little sense. The only way it’d be reasonably okay is if the remainder of any allocation was going to be available for purchases on the night but I can’t see it happening.

I’m fairly certain we will sell that initial allocation and possibly another thousand on top if we play well tonight and win then play well Saturday and win.

Birmingham have been very sluggish sorting out the tickets. They only went on sale to their own fans yesterday.

True, but it doesn't mean we need to follow their lead and proceed so slowly over the rest of the week.

I think they've been messing about with some kind of cup opt in/opt out scheme which might have delayed it from their side.

I've got 545 loyalty points and was kind of hoping they would have the normal first day where its over 450 loyalty points can get them. Making it over 300 loyalty points from the start is going mean people could miss out getting tickets or having to queue for a ridiculously long time. There will be people who won't be able get to the ticket office tomorrow that probably go most of the games. Think vale should have just asked for the full allocation or birrmingham allowed on the day sales due to the short period of being able to purchase them. Basically can only get them Wednesday from 1pm till Saturday before the game after that I presume you could buy online which some people dont like doing then pick up tickets from Birmingham or get sent qr code if its email tickets.

Its all B8ll8cks really - scrambling for tickets when they will have a whole stand to play with - All down to some ass hale wanting put some covers over some seats and advertise some cack product.  ANY club doing this deserves to loose money hand over fist !

Ah, I hadn't quite realised that the priority points level meanys that anyone who's had a ST for the last 2 years can get one, so that's availabilty for several thousand people from the get go. At least that means that we'll be able to ask for extra tickets on Thursday once the initial 2,000 has sold out. I see no reason why they can't give us whatever we need since that end holds 8,000 and isn't available to home fans for this game. Any talk of police interference would be absurd. They took over 7,000 to Blackburn at the weekend!

Does anyone know if this game counts as Byers's 3rd game of his ban?

It does. Byers will be available from Reading away.

Looking at the tickets sold it appears the scramble for tickets was more of a 'have as many as you want' as there are loads left even after 2 days of the low points.

As our club has to buy the batches up front it looks as though they called it right.

A win on Saturday is sure to get the juices flowing so lets hope we take 1500 +

What is the point and cost of stewarding a whole away stand when only a quarter of the stand is needed?

674 sold by yesterday morning .

Looking forwards too it

Can see a win for Vale incoming

Hope the  away end in good voice

Going on train with me drunken work colleague as he is out all afternoon before we set off at quarter too five train to brum .

Love cup games especially ones where teams think they only have turn up and there guaranteed a win

No matter what the result going give Vale full vocal backing .

673 others are too hopefully we sell out .

Be great see a club on the rise anyway .

Birmingham are defo a keep a eye on them club

Hi,

Admin note: As there's so many posts on this existing thread, I am going to make it into the match thread.

  • robf changed the title to Match Thread: Birmingham v Port Vale (League Cup)

Got to say, either the information given by the club about this is rubbish or I'm looking in the wrong place.

Looking at going and taking my son, but it doesn't let me buy his ticket and just says "you do not have the attributes". Assume that this is to do with priority points (as I have a season ticket, he doesn't) but it doesn't say this, and doesn't say when they will go on general sale. It's only a few days away now, better be before Saturday so I can pick them up before/after the match!

Only info on the official site is confirming the fixture date says "ticket details coming soon". But nothing.
