Got to say, either the information given by the club about this is rubbish or I'm looking in the wrong place.

Looking at going and taking my son, but it doesn't let me buy his ticket and just says "you do not have the attributes". Assume that this is to do with priority points (as I have a season ticket, he doesn't) but it doesn't say this, and doesn't say when they will go on general sale. It's only a few days away now, better be before Saturday so I can pick them up before/after the match!

Tckets go on general sale at 9am tomorrow @gavcradd

Didn’t think we’d come close to selling this out much less need to request any extra. Just a reflection of the fact cup competitions unless you get a local derby or big PL side just don’t capture peoples imagination.

I just thought we were a little less tinpot these days. Should be taking 2,000 to Birmingham. Shouldn't be taking less than West Brom away at the same stage of the competition 10 years ago when our fan fanbase was 33% less. Yes I know they were prem and have more of a historical rivalry, but we haven't been to St Andrews in 25 years.

Can’t remember how many we took there that night but do recall Pulis was in charge of them so that might have tempted a few to go and give him a bit of stick.

I just think it’s a reflection of the standing of cup competitions nowadays. They get diminished by the year. Outside of Mansfield to Everton and maybe the PL sides it’ll probably be one of the higher away followings of the rest. I do think as well it must be said unless their fanbase has changed markedly it can be extremely moody around that place and might put off some taking the family.

I was debating it but not feeling it. I expect massive changes (rightly) from us and a likely beating. Rather go out of this now and focus on getting points in the league. It’s about as unattractive of  a draw we could have got. Not a Prem or glam side; likely get well beaten.

Note it’s also on TV for fans compared to the WBA game.

I’ve got a ticket for it but truth be told the only really good thing about this game is it counts towards Byers ban so we can have him back for Reading which we wouldn’t have if we lost to Blackpool. See how today goes but I’m doing mass changes and not thinking twice about it.

Yeah if we’d beaten Burton or Stevenage probably put more interest into this but the league matters most. If we rest players today for Tuesday in mind I’d be fuming in fairness.

Reading is the bigger game next week. Birmingham is for me a chance to get minutes into players such as Garrity, Waine, Faal, Walters and Heneghen.

Given how we can't buy a win in the league at the moment what's the odds (highly unlikely I know) that we somehow scrape a 1-0 win against them despite them having around about 30 shots and us only have 3 or 4 shots at the most.

Doncaster won 4-0 at Middlesboro, joint leaders unbeaten above Brum in the Championship.

Exactly anything is possible but it would be a typical Vale thing to do if we did beat Birmingham with a fluky/scrappy goal.

Means nothing in the League cup, Borough played a team full of reserves and youngsters.
