I’d be tempted to put our second string out for this. League is too important to risk injury, and it gives a week’s rest to those Moore plans on starting against Reading.

Yawn. I was looking at my framed tickets from 15 years ago and back this morning. Most in there are cup games including QPR away (my favourite away day ever for several reasons) and Sheff U away in the league cup. 2 marvellous memorable away victories against teams two leagues above. Some of our best wins against them up the road in my lifetime have been cup victories. Spurs, Man C and Huddersfield away (3-1 down to win 4-3) have been my biggest mentals in the stands at goal time. Keeping a clean sheet at Highbury will live longer in the memory bank than any league games in the second flight that season. NEVER play a weakened team against higher opposition. It's cowardly and reduces the chance of a memorable night for the ages for those in attendance. I hope we go full force.

Sky Sports News ticker saying that Marosi and Stockley are pressing for a start. Either they know something we don’t…

I do generally agree and am going tonight myself. Just think given our current league position the league is too important to risk people like Humphreys.

I know. I think someone hasn’t done their homework at Sky.

We are in a different position than years gone by, in as much as we arguably have 20 interchangeable first teamers. I'd expect some changes, but nothing that will make us weaker. It's a night for Walters. I'd want Humphreys starting against Championship opposition, but if he desperately needs a rest we've got 4 decent centrebacks fit to choose from.

If he's ready he needs minutes.

From what's been said, it's weeks not minutes he needs!

Couldn’t care less about tonight.

Match sharpness exercise for Garrity,Walters and others. Just don’t want us to get hammered.

Get this game out of the way then we announce a new striker signing tomorrow.

To be honest the only thing I care about is getting out of tonight with no injuries or red cards. Cup competitions just feel increasingly a waste of time. Be slightly different if we’d drawn say Everton away but this tonight is just something to get out the way.

Yeah I don’t want youth players starting. Would just be rotating wing backs, and bringing in Walters, Richards etc. to give them a run out.

Alternatively, I want to see Vale win every match.  Birmingham will probably ring the changes , as will DM . Let’s hope we see a good performance from the Vale tonight . It would give us a boost for Saturday. UTV
