If Ojo cant find another club, he can train with the kids. I have no interest in seeing him in a vale shirt ever again.

Would rather see James Plant get the game time as midfield back up than OJO and sign the Dutch striker on trial Noordamus such that the last squad place is taken and OJO is then stuck unregistered and would have to look for another club.

He left one of his previous clubs as he refused to train and play for the reserve side.

Great. I assume refusing to train and play would mean we wouldnt pay him.

Yes apparently Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was manager and told him that he wasn't welcome at the club any longer, he ended up at Dordrecht

You would think he would be breaking his contract in not training.  So cause to cancel his contract without any compensation being paid to the player?

What do the lawyers think on this in the group?

Even if he's unregistered he would still be under contract and paid each week. A football contact doesn't default because of non registration.

I think a player only refuses to train if he wants his contract to be cancelled. Doesn't really work if you say to a player "I want you to leave and not pay you any compensation, would you mind not showing up for training so we can sack you?"

Not sure Ojo is going to be our Winston Bogarde, but the club will need to work out moves for them and who we could bring in after that. I'm sure as the window gets closer to closing, players like Ojo, Hart, possibly others (Heneghan) could be on the way out if there's better replacements on the way in. Only the National League and possibly abroad would be options after the window closes.

I don't really see them leaving if we don't have a replacement, because we didn't do that with Chissy in Jan, and Moore likes a large squad.

I think all you can do then is try to prove his absence and reduct pay which would cost in legal fees etc and if he does the bare minimum like literal jogs and low effort football training you couldn't get rid.

He could play other cards like mental health, get fa or footballers union in etc. Legally he has a contract if he doesn't give 100% is not part of the contact, it doesn't matter. There is no way vale could get him out by force in a year.

Bigger clubs with bigger named players have caused a problem and how many sit in the background till their contact is up, they wait it out for years or go on easy loans, they have to want to move, yea clubs can deny offers and moves but players have the real power in my opinion.

Ultimately if this final year is the highest he's going to earn per week for the remainder of his career, why would he give that up, a deal has to be right for him.

We haven't paid for a player yet, so I think our budget is being used wisely and is quite tight, there's no room for expensive risks. That's the main reason I want ojo gone, so we have every bit of the lemon to squeeze.

But if you say your training with the reserves or below and he refuses - is he then in breach of his contract.

He seems happy to not playing for Vale, as he wasn't really that energetic on the pitch if the ball was more than 4 ft away from his feet.  He just wanted the money.

Maybe Ojo can rejoin Crosby again

I didn't realise that Plymouth had signed Wiredu(who I think is decent) and Pepple(who could be a gamble but well last season)

Wiredu is a decent signing but I thought in my limited exposure to Pepple that he struggled in the division below.

Maybe I should of said did ok last season in relation to Pepple,he certainly is no Hardie that's for sure as they have lost some good players

Not sure about anyone else, but I’d be all over Jonson Clarke-Harris. Still a decent age at 30, and he’s bagged 114 goals in 308 League One games.

I used to think he’d be way out of our price range, but I actually reckon he wouldn’t cost much more than someone like Byers.

He’s had a couple of quieter seasons by his standards, but he still knows where the goal is, and he strikes me as someone who wants to be the main man. He could easily be that for us, especially alongside someone like Tolaj.
