Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Yep, JCH would have a point to prove and DM showing him some TLC could produce a man on a mission. Would be worth the PVTV fee alone to watch.

BUT, if he's a dikchead, then would we want him in the dressing room...??

So many banging on about Ojo, yet here we are inviting another Richard Head to come to Vale Park...??

Prefer to find someone better.

Hence, I would anticipate DM would talk to JCH and assess whether he is a Richard III, if yes then a no go, if no and the signs are good then maybe a signing.

I would suspect Clarke-Harris wont be short of suitors and I dare say would want:

A) A guarantee of a starting place if he's fit.

B) A lot of cash.

Neither I think is reasonable for a striker who has left his last two clubs under a cloud, and is the wrong side of thirty to justify the wage he's likely looking for.

Contrast his attitude with Stockley and I know who I would rather have.

He'll probably go abroad for a fat pay cheque or somewhere down South in League Two.

Of course it has a bearing just  like having players with promotion experience.

You’d be looking at the body language of a player when the going gets tough. That tells you more about the player than when things are good.

We have, or in some cases had, players who’ve  been both promoted and relegated, Garrity to name but one. What does that tell you?  What’s his body language saying to you?

Seemingly most clubs these days have a "no <ovf censored>" policy. This policy goes out the window when the right player with the wrong attitude becomes available.

I think that under Shanahan and Moore that we genuinely do pay close attention to a player's personality. For better or worse we will not have a Lee Hughes, Bob Newton, Jamie Guy.

Clarke-Harris probably wouldn't automatically be ruled out with such a policy in place, but I'd say it would probably go against him if the club were to consider signing him.

With JCH it’s not a question of if he’s a 🛎️🔚 or not it’s more that the bloke is completely washed up. If he had anything left does anyone think Rotherham wouldn’t have clung on to him? The clue is right there.

He is 30 and scored eight goals last season.  Seems somewhat difficult to dismiss him as completely washed up when earlier in the week people were getting told off for being sceptical that we just signed a striker who has scored 5 goals in the last 3 seasons

But likewise we don't want to be shouting at him that he's another Loft/Uche if his draught/lack of goals continued under us. And that's a long way down the road from us even being interested in him let alone signing him (this where Carol/Big Dazzler makes me look a right t1t and signs him first thing tomorrow morning! 🤣)

But you can't just sign players based on their scoring rate, what they are expected to do for the team is the reasoning by the decision makers. We of course have our own opinions.

If that’s a drought then not sure the words drought are in keeping with Uche & Loft.

Must be another word to describe them two

I see that it appears Louis Moult is on trial with Crewe at the moment
