I see that it appears Louis Moult is on trial with Crewe at the moment

Not sure he's either more robust or a better player than Chris Long; who they released.

Looks like Championship teams are starting to do business now, always a top down effect so we should see more activity across L1.

Players obviously have to prove it every season but going into preseason camp, for me there are question marks over some to prove they can step up or want to be here: Heneghan, Hart, Croasdale, Ojo, Plant ,Curtis, Paton

I predict we will see at least 3 players leave permanently.

For all the good signings we still look a Connor Hall injury away from having a big issue.

Bit of a tangent but I ordered my 150 Vale shirt about a month ago and it still hasn't arrived. Just wondering if there are supply issues or they've sent it the wrong house 😂

Join the 900 or so mate, it's a bit disgusting,  when the club can't even give any updates, there's one thing for sure, I for one will not be purchasing the away top, or any other items from them.

Curtis in particular is proven at League one. He had a bitty season but played some massive moments and important ones. Curtis is quality.

Croasdale was outstanding. Just because moneybags Stockport didn't fancy him at League one doesn't mean he's not up to it.

Those two names on your list have astonished me. But we all have different views I guess.

Absolutely.

He demonstrated last season he's a good runner, can close people down and good arriving late in the box along with his durability. What I didn't see is more technical attributes required for L1. Can he pass a ball forward, retain possession, keep control under pressure? I never saw it, he will need to prove it.

Into perspective he's a 30 year old player, never played as high as L1 with 1 year remaining on his contract, back to back promotions from L2, he will be sought after from L2 clubs and player who is unlikely to get a new contract. Yeah he has a lot to prove if he is worth keeping around.

Willl he make the 1st 11? I don't think so. Would have made the 1st 11 last if our players were fit last year? I don't think so.

I really won't be surprised if he is sold to upgrade the position.

You can add Heneghan who had never played below League 1 level.

Personally I think Long is a class player but like Wilson was for us he can never stay fit

Curtis has loads of quality and put the team on his back a few times last year in difficult moments. I really love the character about him but he's effectively 4th or 5th choice striker unless we switch back to 343. Is that value for money?

I didn't think he enough last year as a winger in 343 from an offensive point of view. He worked hard, very hard but not effective going forward.

He could be a casualty to improve other areas if we stick to 352.

We only have 11 spots . It's a squad game.

I'd love to find someone of the quality of Curtis as a squad player.

I get he's on decent money but as per Joe's response about Croasdale I'd anticipate Curtis will start 25 plus games again.

Completely agree, but nor can Moult.
