I think Artell seems to be a leader.I'd be quite happy with Artell and Duffy looking after Davies in games.I'd still have Dougy as captain of the team,Artell next in line.

He went up last year captaining Crewe and we are short of leaders on the pitch anyway.

In all areas of life Captains are the ones that lead by example.A ****ocking doesn't always work.If Artell becomes captain I've no problem with that ,just prefer Loft.

He's a leader. One of the criticisms of the Vale side over the last dozen or so years is that we haven't had enough of them on the pitch. I think he'll prove to be a very good signing because of what he brings to the table, other than just being a very decent League Two defender.

Artell should start this season as captain for definite, loft and McCombe arent vocal enough to be captain and Artell is a real leader who has been there before and succeeded - good signing IMO

I don't know what to make of him on this interview... Will his extreme views and Direct ways be a good thing for our players in the dressing room... Or could his Straight to the point attitude disturb the dressing rooms when things get bad...? Or do you think this is what Vale need in the dressing room?
