Be careful how much you try and besmirch Carol's reputation as mud has a knack of sticking and there is a barrow load that i suspect can still be sent your mates way.

The Vale fans hated him, signed, then loved him.

Feelings are fickle in football. 

McKirdy and Hughes are different players.  McKirdy took the piss out of Vale and the fans.  Hughes didn't and as such won over (most of the fans) through hard work in a Vale shirt.

I think Smith is good enough for division 1 so no problem there. I think Yak will look a lot better in division 2, and more his level. Debrah, I’m not sure about, he was not at division 2 level when he joined us then he improved but last 10 games or so he was awful, not division 2 standard, hopefully he will gain more confidence when playing poorer teams and get back to a higher standard of play.

I think Smith, Debrah and Iacovitti will be fine in league two as long as we play to their strengths and don't ask them to be something they aren't.

Any professional footballer, no matter what level or position, should be able to pass a ball 4 yards to a teammate. Smith and iacovitti are embarrassingly bad
