How long she been a fan for ?

Does it matter Brian. I think it was about 5 years before she bought the club. A fan is a fan whether its 1 year, 5 years or 50 years. I am very glad she did because Scumthwaite drunkenly came on air on Radio Stoke and said he was putting the club up for sale. He then said if no one completes the sale within a month he would shut the club down.

Root: from Greek 'phila' meaning 'lover of' and 'anthropos' meaning humanity. So in the broadest sense of the word Mother Teresa (Saint Teresa of Calcutta) was a philanthropist, but in the modern sense it's used to refer to rich people who give money to help people worse off. Is Carol in that category? I'll let you make your mind up on that one.

Don't make him think too hard, it will hurt his brain 😄

You don't need millions to be a successful league one club... Look at Wycombe.

You just need players, management and an owner who pull in the same direction as what the fans wish. Oh and a decent football strategy and a shrewd investment on the pitch.

Money can't buy all of that

You are forgetting that Burslem is in the middle of quite a poor area, whereas Wycome is right on the edge of commuter belt into the capitol. Getting players there or here is a massive discrepancy

No chance of that. It will need to be paid back, be interesting to see how the new owners of synetics feel about it

Depends on what's been negotiated.

As an aside, what will happen to the staff who have a joint role at Synectics and the Vale.

Given the recent vitriol spouted by some fans on here towards Carol and her family I wouldn't be surprised if she sold the Vale. However I sincerely hope she doesn't and remains as owner of the Vale and involved in some capacity and commits  some of the money to the club.

Belly allocated the funds to buy players in the old championship. Foyle, Cross, Van derLaan cost a few Bob.

Can't see players of that standard at Vale park nowadays.

But Rudgie brought in that money.

It takes certain type to find the negatives in a 180m sale

I mean come on who is going sell a business and leave a 10million debt in the business she keeps 😂

Yes, I think she is. I remember her saying that one of the reasons they bought the Vale was so that they could use the club's massive kitchens to help feed vulnerable families.

Football is understandably the priority for the majority of the fanbase but there is a much larger picture and I think that's what the family are looking at when they talk about the campus and a legacy. The club and Burslem at large have a symbiotic relationship and, if managed well, both will prosper and benefit each other.
