Wycombe (H) match thread - 20th Jan

Featured Replies

There’s a screenshot doing the rounds where they’re telling casual staff to stand down because the game won’t be on.

Seems strange with the temp actually warming up??

Frost is deep set so will take more than a few hours to defrost and could be wrong but if after Wycombe travel we have to pay costs

I saw that too, radio silence from the club. The original post on Facebook was taken down quickly but more than one poster claiming to be "staff" backed it up.

It's bloody sweltering in my conservatory and my lawn can take a stud already. No more sub zero temperatures so I would expect the pitch to be playable at 3pm on Saturday. Doing an inspection 26 hours before ko when the weather has turned suggests that we don't want the match on.

Can't we put a couple of hundred space heaters on the pitch ! 🤔 🤣🤣🤣

Guess its better than having a couple of hundred of space cadets in the stands 😁

It's a disgrace if this is off. Zero f's given about fans clearly. All the forecasts suggest a rapidly improving weather situation.

There doesn’t seem to be a great deal of enthusiasm to get this game on at our end. Maybe we think we can get more bodies available next week?

Do you know this?

Is the internet down at Vale Park as lots of people have contacted them asking the same question and it's radio silence.

We've had the whatsapp screenshot at 12pm from the "Casual Staff" saying the game is off

Allegedly the Wycombe Team bus driver has rang back to base to say they're on their way back to Wycombe but zero coming out from us

Assume if true we are just waiting on a local referee to confirm whats obvious to the groundsteam so have let Wanderers and staff know but waiting on official confirmation to announce?

not official, yet

Game will be off .

In a way that's good .

In another way it means another Tuesday night game where Vale are more often than not absolutely rubbish so for me you play it tomorrow at least on a sat there seems more life in players .

It's cold so personally I'm not bothered but folks who live for there watching the Vale be really naffed off if off I'd say it will be should it be though No if got good covers on should be totally ON the minus 7 yesterday morning would have gone straight through and got it postponed
