...didn't Bradford City have undersoil heating put in when they made the Premier League.... then , after the inevitable relegation, found that they couldn't afford to use it... something like £10,000 per match,- apparently, and that was many years ago when energy prices were reasonable !!  A definite non-starter for the Vale.

I'd be amazed if that's true. Even at today's prices, that's what 1323 households would use in a day.

As much as we might be purists 4G pitches are likely cheaper and easier than heated and cover their costs...

Obviously games do still get called off for access issues or ice on approach roads but fir lower leagues its do overdue.  Good enough for world cups ,euro champonships and fa cup games but not Morecambe v Accrington?! or Vale v Wycombe?

Or Premiership money covers the cost for every team to have quality pitches with heating ?

After Alfie’s recall, and depending on fitnesses, I would have Sang and Weir in the middle with Chislett further forward.

Not sure on the back three but I guess the lad from Liverpool goes straight in if Debrah is out.

But of a who’s who incoming

Minus 7 on the way to work ! Possibly a bit colder tonight so must be a doubt over Saturday...

Got to be above freezing tomorrow and Saturday all be it touches 0c at night tomorrow night, guess it would depend on how deep the frost is and the shadowed part around the Lorne St.

It was interesting watching the Blackpool match last night and as soon as they removed the covers, the pitch looked awful so we will see on match day but we will have to wand see but where I live, three miles away in Oakamoor the ground is frozen solid

I think its the Railway that's in the shadow. In Lorne St you get blinded by the sun.

If Ikpeazu goes and Vale don't have an immediate replacement lined up, is it in the clubs interests to erm, accidentally leave some of the covers off?

Gives us a few more days to get a replacement in.
