Stevenage are also bankrolled by Phil Wallace who is worth £100m and for all Evans making out that they are poor are believed to have a decent players budget (which we won't know until accounts are released) and with a fit for purpose stadium built 23 years ago dont have a lot of our overheads.

There aren't many clubs now league 1 and above who don't have DOF, I don't know the facts or the pros and cons of having a DOF, so can't really comment on if best for a club or not.

Phil Wallace has owned Stevenage since 1999 and they were a conference team for nearly a decade before they saw league football. His wealth is an odd one though as the Lamex food group that he owns is reckoned to be worth about £300m but how much of that he can personally funnell into Stevenage isn’t clear.

The Lamex stadium isn’t exactly a money spinner and they have been on the same site since 1980. It has no real decent executive facilities, the club shop is a tiny area round near the away and a full attendance at Stevenage is only 7,200. In context, we had 12,006 v Middlesborough, nearly 5,000 more paying fans than their ground can hold.

At our current prices of £26 that’s an extra £130,000 from one fixture alone over Stevenage at full, sell out potential! For one match!

It is no ground to be envious of and is light years behind Vale park.

Got to start picking up results and quick, 3 away games and we have to win at least 1 of these.  Teams who I thought would struggle a few weeks ago finding form, Burton now 4 points clear of us with Carlisle at home Tuesday, could be 7 behind them after.  Reading now 3 clear have Fleetwood.  What I hate seeing is when you go more than 3 points adrift, that is when it becomes tough, lots of games to go but make no mistake, we are well and truly in a dog fight.

Does anybody actually believe we will stay up?  IF we don't win on Tuesday that's 3 wins from 24 !!!

The only way we will survive is if we beat Fleetwood Exeter Shrewsbury Wycombe and Lincoln at home to take it to the last home game with Cambridge.   That is some ask !!!

Away trips to Derby Posh and Bolton are free hits and we might sneak something away at Cheltenham Reading and Burton.

IF we go down and Stoke come down the only people happy in the Potteries are the local constabulary.

I agree.

People are also putting too much expectation on Ben Garrity by thinking that a player that's been out for a couple of month's is just going to pick up straight away, where he left off, by firing on all cylinders.

Its going to take him a few games to get to up to speed

We play Peterborough on Tuesday. They have lost their last 3 games. That is a difficult fixture but I feel we have more of a chance than expected when I did my research.

Obviously coming up this month are Cheltenham, Reading and Fleetwood. The euthimistic 6 pointers. We play Lincoln at Vale Park.

Nothing easy but points to be had. Some confidence returned to the team yesterday. We did alright against a side where I could see why they are top 6-8. But Ojo has to stay fit and playing because he is running midfield.

Yesterday we were better at corner routines. Can see efforts gone in on the training ground. We had more strength on the bench, but Lopata is possibly a big loss if he's out a few games.

This wing back system drives me bananas now. On the train home yesterday I looked at the Premier League games. It's a minority system in the Premier League with most playing 4 at the back. The new in thing is the 4 becoming 3 in possession with the right back stepping into central midfield. That is what the the top two teams do with John Stones  and Alexander Arnold. To be fair they have top level players comfortable on the ball and Alexander Aronold has a better cross field wang than Jones!

I don't know which way our season will go, but I am worried about midfield. Ojo is the man. Weir did better. Massey good going forward. Stevenage targeted Grant at LWB second half because he was too isolated and I might conclude this system is particularly vulnerable on big pitches.

Do the bookies think Reading are getting another points deduction because how are they those odds based on current form and why are Burton shorter than us, if they beat Carlisle at home on Tuesday they probably be 7 clear of us.
