Thank you - and don’t get me wrong - I fully do understand the frustrations on the Port Vale side, especially those who spent a lot of money coming down / hotels / etc, but at the time I think most fans felt we needed to make as bigger statement as possible and unfortunately an abandoned game was the next step from throwing tennis balls on the pitch. I hope it helps in even just the slightest way.

Don’t worry we seem to be selling a fair few players so the replay may end up being an easier game for you anyway!

At a Fans’ Forum at Vale tonight our club owner told us that Reading had informed her the day before the game that there was nothing to worry about and the match would be fine. Seems pretty incompetent that.

What can I say? It was all over social media what fans planned to do.

Our CEO is constantly spouting lies to fans too so if anything by at least they are consistent.

The first people running on the pitch come from the north / east stand direction not the 1871 section. I don’t disagree, they could have probably done more, but again my point is, would you be stopping people who are protesting to try save the company you work for? The same company who have under paid / not paid you multiple times over the last couple of years.

Sure the stewards could have gone harder, but I don’t think it would have actually improved the situation and tensions would have just boiled over into the next game.

The stewards I can understand to a degree, even though I disagree with the argument about them being low-paid so don't expect them to do anything.

The police were absolutely useless and I'm mystified as to what was really going on with their inaction. Even a couple of police getting assertive with those on the pitch would have seen them get off sharpish. I'm amazed that anyone thinks that would have been difficult - it's their effing job!

As for those who were falling over each other to "stand with Reading".....words fail me.

Sorry I didn’t mean because their low paid - I more meant they might be out of a job if the club goes under - especially the “seniors” who have worked at the stadium for years, I’m sure they want the same thing as the fans -  not an excuse but I can see why they would maybe let things slide abit - if I was in their situation I probably would too.

I did find it weird there was no attempt to clear the pitch - I guess there wasn’t enough police, I suspect they also felt as it was peaceful then going in may change that so just let it run its course.

To be fair, I think she actually said the EFL had informed her that the match would be fine and there was nothing to worry about.

I'm pretty annoyed with it all to be honest. If Reading win the replayed game, then the only team to benefit from this whole charade is Reading.

We had similar problems with a guy who was holding our club to ransom and I can bet your bottom dollar that Reading fans didn't give a stuff about Port Vale. Yes, we protested but we never did it to the detriment of other teams.

The replayed game now has completely different parameters, whether advantageous to us or not is irrelevant. There's also the thousands of pounds that Vale fans will not get back from their expenses.

Reading made their point by delaying the game and should have got off the pitch at that point.

The punishment is ridiculous because now any team can cause matches to be abandoned should they have some issue with their owners, without fear of punishment.

All this faux love in with Reading is a bit ridiculous in my book. Yes, I have sympathy with them but they've caused us a massive issue, squeezing a game into an already packed schedule which could have catastrophic consequences for our club.

I hope Carol has her legal case ready should Reading finish 1 point above us and leave us in the relegation places.

Our club had contacted Reading on the Thursday and been told there was nothing to worry about. The EFL were then contacted including on the morning of the match and said everything would be fine.

Ask not what your club can do for you – ask what you can do for your club

Again my point stands

What have Port Vale done to protect and help the fans that went to Reading?

Apart from people mocking per usual, no one's actually come up with an answer

Everyone is having a go at Reading & the EFL about what happened and the outcome since but do you know what?  Your own club's done nothing to fight your corner.

Is it not your Club as well Brian , you certainly have enough to say about it .

Reading FC did not want to refund  any ticket money. It was stated at the forum last night that it took many calls between the two clubs to finally get them to agree on a refund. This was the maximum Reading were prepared to concede.

My view is that EFL have stayed away from the problem and ordered the replay full stop and stayed away from many of the issues that have been raised.
