Wasn't expecting that. Clarke's sacking was disclosed before 0830 so with the silence today I assumed they were giving AC the game tomorrow night.

Nice bloke, comes across as having a lot of integrity and the right stuff, and I feel sorry for him for the situation he was put into - He was never going to turn the job down, but L1 for your first proper gig was a proper gauntlet of fire. DF has a lot to answer for.

Needed to happen albeit I am disappointed for a man who served the club so well during the first two years here and always came across as a decent bloke.

What I don’t understand is how the Director of Football can be responsible for everything that touches the grass, have 3 awful transfer windows, oversee back to back relegation fights (both from promising early season form) and 2 managerial sackings and seemingly remain in place to pick the next manager.

David Dunn will get the job till theend of the season and will then get the job full time once relegated. Rinse and repeat. I’ve got no confidence in them getting this right.

You can't make a decision that a lot of fans saw as very risky, or outright stupid, then realise 6 months after them that it was indeed risky/stupid, and expect to keep your job.

I don't get paid to make decisions and I saw this wasn't a good appointment. If a pleb like me can see it a mile off, our DoF should never have gone near it.

The farce of giving a man who was assistant to a sacked manager the job may set this club back years.
