Biggest Hammerings

I’d never seen us concede 7 (seven) before today. It hasn’t happened for 40 years.

We conceded six at Oakwell on Boxing Day 1978, we also conceded six at home in 1987 when Paul Stewart played for Blackpool and more recently at home against Lincoln under Aspin.

Any others come to mind?

Not hammerings on that scale but I remember a 4.1 at Oldham first day under Horton I think. DIsn't Michael Twiss score ours that day?

 

 

 

I think we had a 4.1 at home first day as well when John Mcarthy had that weird comeback for us. Think it was Tranmere.

 

An opening day slapping is very depressing.

Remember losing 4-0 at Hereford in the fa cup 2006. Awful, considering they were a league below.

6-0 away to Villa in the Cup. Would've been early 90s when they had David Platt playing for them and Graham Taylor as manager.

The 7-0 was the biggest I have seen live... I used to go and watch all the England home games and haven't even seen them beat the likes of Andorra or Kazakhstan that badly!

Yeah. 2-0 at half time. I remember turning to my mate and saying "early goal 2nd half and we're back in this".

Some I went to - Wrexham away lost 6-2, Connaughton asking Vale fans to keep the ball as long as possible when it came into the away end. Huddersfield lost 7-1, singing come and have a go if you think you've scored enough at their fans at the end of the game. 5-0 down at Sarfend at ht, won 2nd half 1-0. Being 5-0 down at Mansfield after 25 mins,  Kevin Kent hat trick.
