Just shows the high IQ on the FB pages? Let the manager bring 8 players in...possibility of a ninth in the next few days...then give him a fortnight to "save" his job? That's almost on a par with our worst extremists!

Was clearly a joke / sarcasm

A match report would be nice, after all, we're fans of the club and there will be match reports for other games. The media team is very poor currently. They seem more concerned with trying to wind up fans and posting things like "We are delighted to announce.... that we have a golf day coming up".

Thankfully, West Brom have provided a match report and selection of photos so will have to get Vale news from there. Lot's of unfamiliar young looking faces for us it seems!

According to PVFC Twitter  Yesterday we played 11 first teamers and 10 from the Under 18's in our 3-0 defeat at the Baggies. (Not all at the same time I trust) and I see some social media posters are predicting Crosby is for the sack.

SCFC won 5-1 away at Notts County and The Oatcake posters are predicting automatic promotion.

Clearly its what the newspapers used to call the 'silly season'

This is my point. So many of our fans think they are entitled to know everything going on. Being informed is one thing, but there seems to be outrage when we don't get a daily running commentary of whats going on at the club.

This is nonsense.

We are a football club. Football clubs play matches. As a fan of a football club, you would expect a match report for matches.

Have you never heard of something called 'engagement'?

You've got 2 match reports, one from us and one from them.

Its not nonsense. They did do a match report.

What frustrates me is that there's a sense of entitlement that we all need to know the intimate details of what's going on.

They've just had two fans forums, open training sessions for junior valiants, the manager and players have given interviews to the media team and to the press. Yet still, we're not happy.

There's a section of our support that is CONSTANTLY looking for a stick to beat the club with - and its mainly because they don't feel like they are privy to everything. "Why wasn't there a live stream of this?, why wasn't the change of catering announced?" The list goes on.

So many people want to be "in the know" I don't blame the club for keeping things in house. Why haven't they announced anything on Mal Benning? Maybe because the pkayer has requested it because he doesn't want dog's abuse on social media? Maybe he wanted to leave but hasn't got a deal, so they club have offered him reduced terms, which wouldn't be his proudest moment. Maybe he reads this messageboard and thinks half of us would be happy to drive him back to Mansfield. Who knows? The point is there could be loads of reasons, but because there isn't a club statement, we start putting the boot in.

When we were going for promotion under Clarke, we played several behind closed doors friendlies midweek and no one cared about the line up, the venue, the opposition.

Its like the transfer rumours about Jephcott - as I said in an earlier post. The majority of us don't really know whether we're in for him or not, but if he goes somewhere else and scores a load, then there will be people who castigate the club for not signing him when we really don't have any knowledge about any potential transfer at all.

I guarantee if Troy Deeney turns round and signs for Walsall there'll be annoyance on here we didn't sign him, despite the fact no one actually knows if we're in for him or not.

The lack of information you claim centres around this. They'll never talk about rumours, the local press doesn't report them because they probably have the same view that its pointless to discuss anything until they signed, yet there is an expectation we should be telling everyone everything.

And herein lies my point. Not even bothered to look if there was a match report before slagging the club off.

Fair enough, my mistake, will hold my hands up - I had missed our match report and only saw WBA's.

Also saw lot's of people on Twitter asking for a match report too, so not sure when ours was actually released.

Apologies 😅
