Whilst DC not quite in the frame perhaps an indication he'll be featuring in available managers odds for the near future.

He is drifting at least was 16/1 this morning, imagine the 5 year contract would put some off though as it should mean we'd be wanting big money if he was approached.

That said no guarantee he would go, he turned Leeds down and does seem loyal if you treat him right which we have.

Interestingly a few L1 managers have turned down a move to the level above, Bonner rejected the Rotherham job, Ainsworth Blackburn i think it was and Schumacher turned down one the other week but cant remember who that one was!

A five year contract would not put anybody off.

I doubt very much the compensation in his contract is to pay is contract up in full. It will be a lesser, agreed figure which both DC and Port Vale will be happy with.

Even, it was the full 5 years of his contract and puts people off, if DC wants to leave, he will leave.

The only people in football that are loyal are us, the supporters - lets not forget that.

I’d imagine it’d be Neil Critchley who Luton go for. Did a great job at Blackpool in the Championship and Luton are a similar sized club. Think he fits the bill. With DC to me I’d imagine there’s a few other L1 managers who are probably more “fashionable” to Championship clubs than he is (Bonner at Cambridge for one).

Bookies odds mean nothing, look at some of the ridiculous names that have appeared on there when we’ve had a vacancy.

Seems a strange move as Askeys done a really good job overall there. Doesn’t seem to be a popular move either so maybe to do with a falling out behind the scenes over money possibly?

You're right the sacking doesn't really make sense given the promotion and then sitting 12th in the league. Unless the club feel that they invested in players this season and that they ought to be in a better position than they are. The comments from the club do make it sound like a possible falling out as they've been 'having on going discussions for the past few weeks'.

Definitely seems that way. The York chairman must have been going some as Askey in the past has dealt with the worst of Smurthwaite and the old Macc owner.

I know his last few months at Vale didn’t go well but overall his track record is such that I would expect there’ll be a decent amount of clubs in L2 and the conference who would be interested. Wouldn’t surprise if just up the road at Crewe they had a look and I think they could do far worse given where they are at.

Rangers sack von Bronckhorst.

Should have happened a while go.

Although not all down to Gio the board and especially Ross the sports director are to blame. Shocking recruitment especially when you think how much money they got for Bassey and Aribo

Interestingly the names being linked are Dyche , Gerrard again, Michael Beale Gerrard Ex right hand man who's doing a stellar job at QPR and the random one Kevin Muscat
