I think in the home games Donnelly has generally being OK in away games struggled badly .
V Oxford and MkDons and Bristol Rovers Exeter hasn't put a foot wrong in them games I've attended .
He has done OK must be hard playing in a side where so many players have lost interest so cannot really judge him .
Is Forrester out of contract as he as made numerous mistakes that have led to goals against this season I'd be more inclined have a go at him personally than Donnelly OK v Wycombe at fault for pen and made a few errors but no where near as many as Forrester who's being at fault for many a goal going in Vales net .
Defence has been poor Smith /Jones have been the best of a very bad bunch .
Goalkeepers need showing the door but maybe better if big unit signed who can dominate our six yard box as same goals going in all season that we're going in v Rochdale at home big lump out jumps Smith heads down they react quicker and in our net .

Forrester does make too many mistakes. I think on the ball he is quite skillful but he tries to overplay / is careless.

Re Donnelly I have only seen him live in away games on IPlayer. Maybe I have a better opinion because of that.

I thought at Accrington the goalkeeping change cost us the game and players other than Donnelly gave up.

In Ipswich away we defended really well and I feel we lost that game because we couldn't have a balanced bench, ran out of steam and were just pressed beyond endurance.

Lincoln was a stupid loss and surely we should be seeing that game out for win or draw.

And so we go on. What a shambles the second half of the season has been.  We need to celebrate getting lucky we are still in L1. But we won't be at the end of 2023/24 without causing a significant improvement in our squad without spending too much on wages in the close season.

It’s not about negative opinions, it’s the abusive way in which these so called ‘opinions’ are made which is the problem.
However if it suits you, makes you feel better and you think it’s in order then carry on .
I just don’t agree with it but you don’t seem to like that either .

I don’t care if you agree or not, it’s an open forum where people can speak their opinions. I’m not trying to be abusive, and not that I am aware being nasty, it’s just I think Donnelly is crap and not good enough. FYI, I also think Massey is crap, for the vast majority of the time as is Benning and Taylor doesn’t offer much- sorry if you think that also is abusive but I really can’t take in to account every snowflake else I may as well not voice my opinion.

So it’s about ‘opinions’ as long as it’s your ‘opinion’. I posted my ‘opinion’ not at anyone in particular but in general and you don’t like it . Forgive me I see how it works now.

Just for your information I’m far from a snowflake if that was directed at me .

I would think Donnelly can be pleased with scoring the winning goal against MKD, which has made a big contribution to Vale`s place in L1 for the 23/4 season.  Will no doubt feature in his profile video.

You are entitled to your opinion as I am, I never felt your original statement was directed to me in particular, I just replied to you as to how I felt and anyone else is free to express their own opinions. I have never disliked any of your comments, as I said, you are entitled to your opinion. It maybe you should be a bit more constructive rather than slating others for theirs, I don’t even know what you think of Donnelly.

It’s not the ‘opinion’ I take issue with it’s the manner in which it’s posted .
We all like some players and dislike others but there is absolutely no need for the likes of ‘garbage’ when referring to any young player who is cast into a pressure situation and trying their best even if that’s not good enough for some .

I agree, Forrester and Donnelly are young and are learning how to play the game at this level and in front of 1000's of people. Both have done many good things this season but have made some mistakes, it's what usually happens when young pro's are signed.

Sometimes with Vale's defenders we have to give the other team's attackers some credit, eg Rak-Sakyi went past Benning with ease for their 2nd goal but he's as skilful and fast as any player I've seen in Lge 1 this season and I doubt he'll be at Charlton for much longer. .

Just a week or so, then he will go back to Palace

Hussey was a proper footballer. As he has shown this season.

In L2. And he's old - done for pace when left one v one.

His main reason for bring signed was as a deadball specialist. He was ok at that, but in my opinion not better than Worrall.

In talent he is far from the worst player I've seen. But he's a guy who wants 95% pass accuracy by way of making the safest pass possible. That is turn backwards and give to the centre half or goalkeeper. Again and again and again and again.

Seems to have done alright this season in League 2 and a year older. Watched him very closely last year in home games and until he was carrying an injury he rarely gave the ball away and rarely was beaten. Wasn't liked by us because he was  not like Gibbo.

Forrester ain’t like Gibbo and I like him

Smith ain’t like Gibbo and I like him

Jones ain’t like Gibbo and I like him

Stupid comment saying fans didn’t like Hussey because he wasn’t like Gibbo.
