Good to get our Striker on the scoresheet ready for the new season and dust the old cobwebs away after only 1 game so far.

Can't wait for next Saturday....live competitive football bring it on.

So despite all the panic we play Dundee Utd with a scratch team and manage win 1-0 then we play Rochdale(who have played 5 friendlies) with an even more scratch squad and win 3-2 ... I cant wait now for us to add to the squad... bring on League One I am ready even if others aren't

Yeah same here. It’s going to be tough but it was always going to be. Right now I’m quite confident we can name an eleven that can do a job on Fleetwood with the home crowd right behind them. Obviously we do need some additions and I reckon some will be in by the middle of the week.

Yeah I was a little surprised it wasn’t asked at the fans forum to be honest. If it did happen out in Spain must have been right at the very end as from the photos of the training camp he was involved in all the drills.

Make that 3-2 Vale now Funso!

Have you meet our manager before? Do you really think Clarke would confirm a players injury status a week before the season kick off.

Yeah if memory serves we only really saw him when he came on against Oldham to help see things out. Clearly as you say to pay a fee and him coming from Man City as well there’s got to be something there they feel can be used.
So long as it’s channeled right having a bit of an edge to him is a good thing. Probably Gibbo could be a good one for him to try and emulate on that.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure those were his only minutes too. (Could look it up, but CBA.) At 20 I imagine he is one of the target 6 or 7-strong group of young squad players Flitcroft has referenced occasionally - it looks like McDermott and Plant will be in that category this season too. I suppose it shows commitment to this idea of a tier for younger players with first team potential to actually spend on acquiring them.

And in a lower league though. Like all friendlies it’s irrelevant and we will see how our small squad copes fitness wise very shortly

Obviously without naming your source, please can you describe how this person is connected to the medical team and why they are spreading fitness info to aristocratic spectres? Just working out the appropriate amount of gone my head should be. emoji51.png

To be fair I know I lot of people who know him. Used to go Biddulph High so have mates who know him well and he lives in the area. It’s not too hard to find info on things like this at times

Oh hey, I wasn't criticising, and I thank the good Lord for his honest answer. It is easy for the slightest bit of information (or misinformation) to escalate in an anonymous forum, and it's worth evaluating one's sources before escalating to Defcon Sh*tyerself.

Isn't that the truth about friendlies. I still remember Foyle's team played well against Man U reserves with some young players like Frazier Campbell and Ryan Shawcross. Fans were getting giddy.

When the season started oh my god what a bunch of dross he had bought. The beginning of an extremely long and painful period for the club.

For the record Rochdale took 4 points off us last season. They won 12 out of 46,not 8 and lost their top scorer(Beesley) to Blackpool and top performers (Morley) to Bolton in the January window. They were 3-1 up against Bristol Rovers before the late comeback. I don't think they're terrible and we beat them despite having only Proctor up front and being 2 behind. Worrall looked fit, good header from Proctor and what a goal from Ojo.

Several players got minutes,Tommy McDermott has emerged...all good from my point of view.

It seems as though you have to emphasise an opinion by adding the following word...fella.
