Worrall easily man of the match . Was absolutely everywhere and got the winner.... that is why you don’t drop your best players .. especially when they rely on a run of games to get fit and into some form.... anyone still want Askey out ??

1. Nobody on here wanted askey out.

2. It’s not always a bad idea to drop one of your best players if not performing. I think askey would have done had amoo and mckirdy been fit. Also he and others had a long run of games...

facts are he wasn’t playing well. Was excellent second half tonight, and hopefully keeps that level up

Good gritty performance after going a goal down. I think we have played better in other games with the ball but we where superb without it.  Its great to see Burgess and Wozza beginning rediscover their form. Also credit to JA for making a sub before 80 mins (excluding injury) which was defo needed... it wasn't Theo's day today.

3 points against the best team we have played so far this season by some distance.  Great nights work

You know the vale script in games set up like that.......

possibly on to Southend ..................... they are in court tomorrow with a £500k debt to pay and could be liquidated. If we do play them, theyve not won a single game and have 2 points from 27.

Managed to catch the the vale goals but not much else due Ifollow being it's usual horrendous streaming service.

Another hard working performance and another three points.

Good to Wozza get a goal. Well done Askey and the lads.

Crikey, another club on the verge of folding. If we don't play then our next game would be 7 November because next Tuesday's game against Scunny is postponed for Covid. We'll be getting rusty!

Cambridge winning again away at Saddlers - by a peno, surprise, surprise.
BBC Report : "Hannant draws a foul in the penalty area". (again)

Excellent win for the Vale against a decent team. JA has the lads playing for one another, not since the days or Micky Adams and Rob Page have we seen such commitment.

I reckon that's pass of the season (vs Carlisle) and goal of the season so far for Worrall. Phenomenal pressing by Burgess and Worrall and yet another masterclass at leading the line by Popey.

Popey should always play a prominent part in every Vale game for me depending on his fitness and the opposition.

Great second half - if only we could play for 90mins! 😉Thought Burgess was immense and back to last season’s form, second only to Wozza for MOTM. Scott Brown also played well especially first half.

Brilliant t result against a side very good away from home.

Some posters have made themselves look a little daft tonight.

Nice and calm vale, keep improving And picking up results.

Worall seems to prefer the left wing and Amoo coming back has allowed hint to move across.

Amoo will keep building on his performances as he gains match fitness.

UTV!!

Delighted with that. Decent performance against a good team. Some great individual performances tonight too.

There was a thread running stating Askey was a game away from being under real pressure.

There were many more posts about Worrall needing to be dropped. He has always needed 5 or so games to get into his stride. Proven once again with 2 great performances, Saturday and tonight. Burgess another who is now finding his Rhythm who was to be banished.

Great passionate performance by the players who bought us to the edge of success last year. Further to that, better back up players than we had last year. Fitzpatrick a clear example of what we now have in reserve and much improved on last year.

Who's the commentator? He doesn't seem to be able to speak properly, pronounce words or choose the correct words to reflect what's going on. Parry instead of punch as an example. Bit of an issue given what the role involves!

He's better than the <ovf censored> ifollow though!

I thought he was way better than Bowers, in that he actually and accurately described the game - unlike Bowers last week at Cambridge who called numerous throw-ins, corners, free-kicks wrong and got the wrong man on many occasions. (plus tonight's commentator didn't go on about pies/sweets/size of shirts, etc!) Tonight's was a much better and more professional commentary IMO (though I expect the vast majority will disagree, seemingly purely on the basis that Bowers is a Vale fan).

As for the game itself, I agree with every word of The Sage's post - Burgess and Worrall were excellent 2nd half and produced much more like last season's performances. Joyce riles me a lot of the time - its almost as though he's looking for Brown or the centre-backs as soon as he receives the ball (slight exaggeration maybe, but on one occasion tonight he got the ball in our half facing forwards and turned 180 degress and started running with it towards our own byline!). Pope looked good when he came on, and should have put himself ahead of Robinson in the queue for selection now.
