When will Leon Legge play?

That’s all there is to say, i felt I had to start a thread. For me he’s the best defender we have. Yet since this story about the 25 apps and triggering a new contract emerged.... not played a single game.

 

There is something in this and we deserve the truth, we are falling into the oblivion and if it means we spend money on a 1 year extension for Leon and WE STAY UP, for more that money very well spent!

 

When will Leon Legge start?!?

 

I’d drop either or both Smith and Rawlinson for Legge.

Legge has been asked but can’t reply. He does however like some tweets, in particular one from a guy who said that Norman will replace him with Streete because he’s free and cheaper in wages.

I’ve personally been told that he is 2 games away from a contract extension.

John Askey is on Radio Stoke tomorrow 6-7. Maybe ring him and ask him the question?

I believe another first team player confirmed via an SMS that it was true about the contract extension if he plays more games. I wont say which player as was asked to keep confidential. Whether Askey abides by that will be telling I guess.

Askey is no different than Aspin not playing Legge and putting Howkins on the naughty step.

Maybe it was part of him taking the job that he didn’t play Legge.

How dire Rawlinson has been recently there is no reason why he should be playing Legge and Howkins.

It makes no sense at all, especially as Askey says he would never let a clause stop him picking a player.

If it is a contract issue (which I have no doubt it is) then why:

 

A) did NS allow a player to sign on those terms? wouldn't it be easier to just disregard Legge and get in a cheaper player, if money is more important than quality, who can play whenever?

 

B) use so much of Legge's game quota early on and then be left with no games to help stave off relegation?

 

C) not sort out a new arrangement with Legge now that in some way alters his status in the interests of both parties. He seems like an engaged, passionate pro so I'm sure he would want to help us stay up even if he doesn't want to be here next season. That might not be possible but if I was Askey and my hands were tied behind the scenes by this nonsense then I would be doing everything I could.

 

D) doesn't Askey speak up. If we go down he won't get the job anyway so why keep quiet and get relegated? Depends on his treatment thereafter I guess

2. It would be a false economy to not select a player who could keep us in the Football League.

 

3. If he gets the option of another year, there’s no guarantee he’d even sign it. The club is a shambles and I wouldn’t blame him if he cleared off in the summer regardless.

Maybe he’s been made to sit on the bench so we al think that’s he’s simply not playing because it’s the managers choice and nothing to do with instructions from the owner who’s hell bent on destroying and relegating this club.

 

Which he will have achieved in a few weeks.

I’m pretty confident in a few things I’ve heard about the players aren’t happy because of the owner and what he’s doing to the club.
