Match Thread - Port Vale v Milton Keynes

Team Vale fear nobody, bring Milton Keynes on for the first game of a big month which could establish us as serious contenders. Hopefully they are not as robust as Exeter, and also that we have recovered from our exertions and knocks of a hard fought game. Who will be the star or stars of this game, a sign of an emerging squad is when the spotlight moves around. Miller must be due a goal, as are the Vale due a penalty or two.

Speaking of injuries, I absolutely loved the commentary team on RS today!

They had half the team almost hospitalized, during the game

I never knew, that in order to become a pundit, you had to be a doctor as well. And a very good doctor even, being able to almost Superman x-ray and diagnose a body, from 200 feet away. Bloody hell, they should work for the NHS when it's not game day :banghead:

MK had a mid -week game last week so this will be their 3rd game in a week hopefully they will be feeling the strain more than us.

Hope Hannant was just suffering from cramp. He didn't move from the corner flag after he took the corner. It would be good to be unchanged again for the fourth consecutive game. (I think?)

Miller has got to score soon and hopefully get an assist at some point too!

He's no chance of getting an assist as he won't pass the bloody ball! The sooner he realises that he'll get a lot more goals if he plays the sensible play, rather than shoot, the better. Not knocking him, as think he offers a lot in terms of getting in the channels and making the oppo defence nervous, but he's frustrating the hell out of me!

It was a great point yesterday (almost said win ) but we will need to be at our very best to beat MK Franchise. Though they're winless in six, they have five draws (incl. a 3-3 draw against L1 leaders Peterborough) and only Lincoln have beaten them. So a victory on Tuesday would be a great three points. Hope we get a good crowd after Saturday.

An unchanged team is a must (barring injuries). When a team starts to play the way we have been doing ( 5 clean sheets in the last 6 half’s) every member of the non-playing squad will be pushing for the starting 11. They will be going the extra mile in training, everybody wants to be apart of something that’s successful!

A win culture, creates a win culture. If we are not to battle scared we can only get better and better and come May let’s fill pigeon park with celebrations and beer !

Very tough game this one. They have drawn alot of games, losing leads very late on, which is encouraging.

There will be some very tired Vale legs after Saturdays exertions, but they will be buoyed by the last minute equaliser.

Another bench mark perhaps.

Our fixtures in the next two months look very challenging.

MK haven’t won in 6

Which is a worry given our usual generous nature - would be nice for a change to keep the opposition on a bad run

I've got that horrible feeling too, like the bubble of expectation will pop because we've been seeing signs of encouragement to raise our hopes!

If we're genuinely going to be top half this season we need four points from the next two games. Three would indicate mid table, one bottom half and none ..... well !!
