Awful team selection to start with. Awful lack of tactics or any sort of style of play. The players look lost and unmotivated. Awful subs.

 

I really am starting to doubt Aspins ability as a manager. The doubts started to creep in at times last season but now he has his own (reasonably good) set of players and he cannot get them playing well consistently mostly because he’s constabtly changing formation and (more importantly) changing players positions.

I'm very very worried about this season. We still don't create chances. All our 'tactics' seem to be is set up for a 0-0 and hoof it long for Pope to flick on then hope something happens. No pattern of play at all.

When I saw the starting line up I was worried we'd lose. Totally negative. I beginning to wonder what Aspo's thinking is, we offer virtually no threat going forwards. It's early days yet but he needs to find a settled side and one that doesn't just hoof the ball aimlessly in the general direction of Tom Pope. Manny looks like a decent playmaker but with him injured there's absolutely nothing in the squad to replace him.

We need something at Tranmere now.

Not a knee jerk reaction from me as I'm one of the more optimistic Valiants usually, following Vale home and Away. I have been ridiculed on here in the past for my "rallying calls" to fans to get behind the Club as a whole.

 

However, frustration has completely taken me over as yet again Aspin changes the side and puts players in wrong positions.

 

Having to watch Vale away nowadays is embarrassing , time and money consuming and frankly a waste of my life. I no longer can hold in what many are now beginning to realise is the worrying fate of Vale. It's increasingly obvious Aspin has not got a clue. Patchwork squads, players not included, players out of form chosen time after time, no midfield system and certainly a massive lack of anything other than safety first dictates our season, just as it has these past few years.

 

I am seeing the light, the light that many past fans did and have abandoned Vale. Sorry to say we are in for another very trying and long, hard season unless Aspin has a bang on the head and actually becomes the manager we all craved for.

Better second half but ironically they had 2-3 chances that were better than anything they'd created first half.

 

Starting 11 wrong, as proven by the sub and better play second half.

 

We need pace up top. We need wingers crossing into Pope.
