I get where you're going with this, and I agree.

But you do know Aspins best mate Tonge will be in the starting 11. And Pugh as well...

I trust Aspin to choose the best team with the players available to get a result.

Listening to todays press conference and it seems hes all but confirmed that hes going to make changes to the side for Saturdays game. This is the chance to throw in people like Turner, Angus, Calverly, Reeves for example and either start them or give them some time on the pitch.

I also suspect that his team selection for the last 2 games could be very telling about the players he's already made his mind up on.

I agree that it could be very telling about the players he's made his upon but will it tell us who's in favour and who's out? If left out it could mean they're safe or he doesn't want them next season. I guess there'll be a lot of debate on here until the retained list comes out!

An old guy telling young guys not to do what he did when he was young...cant see the football league relegated us because some young lads go on the pitch last game of the season!

The best thing at the end of this game will be that this season will be one game closer to being over.

I might be an old guy but I have seen better football at Vale Park than many younger fans are likely to see. The point of being an old guy is to try and help younger people not to make same mistakes as I did. The pitch is for the players not supporters. Don’t want football to go back to the eighties when we hid under tables as beer bottles flew through the air. Football hooliganism is growing again in this country and abroad.

I don't agree with you to be honest. Going to fotball matches is an extremely safe pastime. What passes for hooliganism these days is a pale shadow of what it used to be.

Unfortunately the affordability of football has meant a dilution of atmosphere at games and it's all the poorer for it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not nostalgic and I don't miss fearing aggro at nearly every game but all-seated sanitised stadia have mae the spectacle very dull.

Young people arent in the habit of learning off old people, they learn from their mistakes, just like every single generation that went before.

I dont think football hooliganism is growing here either, it has got less and less commonplace over the years but I dont think you will ever to be able to stop young drunk lads wanting to fight, its part of growing up for some.
